Voss, Black, Akermanis, Lappin or Headland

If you could have one of those players at West Coast who would it be and why? For me Simon Black is the one I would want. Such a talented player and has the ability to play inside and outside of the packs.

Been thinking about it a little, and I would want Black or Headland.

The reason I didn't select Voss is because he is 27 or 28, and would only get about another 3-4 years, as with Black or Headland you could be getting as much as 10 years service.

Not really basing this on age.

For Freo

1) Akermanis (Exactly the sort of player we need)
2) Black
3) Voss
4) Headland
5) Lappin


If I were a West Coast fan, I would want Black or Voss (again, not really basing it on age).


Voss is arguably the best player/leader out of the lot, but I would prefer Akermanis or Black because they are the sort of players Freo need. No disrespect to Voss.

All 5 of them are class, though.

I would take Voss but then again it would cause problems. He would want to be captain you would assume but we already have one, and a damn good one at that. Plus he is getting on a bit. But he is certainly the one I would take.

I'd take Black purely for the Age reason. We are building a young side, we have the experience. Voss is a great player but we want a team that COULD win more than 1 premiership, if he was only to give us 3-4 years i don't see us winning anymore than 1 at most premierships in that time, where as black could give us 10 years like cous kerr judd and our other younger players, and in that time we MAY be able to push for more than 1.
I am being Greedy yes, but may as well aim for it and be optimistic

I think you all underrate Nigel Lappin a bit.. especially against Headland.. Headland may show flare as a midfielder but he's yet to deliver several good full seasons of senior footy.. Lappin's probably the second best ball carrier and deliverer in our side next to Chris Johnson.
His comeback from injury was truly stunning and i think showed the true calibre of the player..
