Interesting to see Fev in the final 6 for the Army Award (again?). This is a player who, according to some BigFooty posters, plays for himself, gives no second efforts & only applied pressure for the first time this season in the last quarter of last week's game when trying to get his 100th goal.
Good to see some recognition for a player who is quick to be maligned for the minority of bad things he does, when the reality is that his good outweighs the bad, ten-fold. I don't know of too many forwards that chase, tackle & apply pressure as often as what Fev does.
He's a star, no doubt about it. His chasing/tackling form seems to coincide when he's been in trouble for something. The good can outweigh the bad but the bad is still bad and a harder trait to shake. He NEEDS to be constantly good to shake it. 99 goals however is a brilliant effort.

Don't think he was far short of 40 tackles this year. Not bad for a FF. Many a goal was kicked this year on the back of a Fev chase, tackle and pressure. Let's not stereotype him because he's Fev, despite his "odd" moment his defensive pressure is as good as any forward in the competition.

Fev should win this hands down, that chase and tackle on Obrien and co he left them for dead (and collingwood were picking thier ass's up off the ground while fev high 5's Grigg) and grigg nails the goal. That was just icing on the cake, Interestingly he seems to conceed when the ball is beyound his range for a FF, But chases AND knocks down the closet ball carrier eliminating them from the next phase. I dont believe he tries to make up for mistakes as he ........ IS.........JUST..........THAT..........GOOD
But if I was giving the Army Award I say Simmo should win it with his courage when he was captain and work ethic in general. Big year from Simmo next year ..
