5. Dean Cox
4. Sam Butler
3. Matthew Priddis (best game I've seen from him in ages)
2. Brad Ebert
1. Andrew Embley

HM: Mark Nicoski

Sooo so many options.

Because there are some guys who are expected to just do well i'm going to give it to guys who get a bit of a hard time and really deserve it across what was a very even performance when about 10 or so blokes could have scored the chocolates.

5. Butler
4. Ebert
3. Nicoski
2. Embley
1. Smith

HM. Darling.

1. Mackenzie

I'm not going to bother listing the entire team as honorable mentions.

5. Priddis - is it me or is priddis a bit more 'dynamic' this year...selling a few dummies and pulling up some kicks to hit targets. really under-rated player.

4. Cox - just set the game up, consistent throughout.

3. Darling - i dont even know how many touches he got, but he just won so many 1v1s and took a number of contested marks. so invaluable.

2. Butler - the general down back with the footy in hand, great to have him back.

1. Emac - he was resolute in defence, nothing got through him. used his big frame to smash some packs too. loved it.

HMs to Ebert/Embley/Nico/Kerr

just a good team effort mainly.

Really must note your call there and say i agree that emac was very impressive. Really loved his game and the game by the whole team really.

didnt really stand out, but really liked mcginnitys game tonight, did a good job and hit it hard. just thought he deserved some lovin aswell:D

there are plenty of guys unlucky. plenty of guys who will play worse games and pick up a couple of votes.

Some all round great performances tonight from some people - still let ourselves down with some poor decisions/laziness going inside 50 (JK and Cox). Have about 9 blokes to give votes to.

5. Priddis - probably the best game i've seen him play - creative, hit targets and set up regular scores.
4. Cox - dominated from the start when the game was largely won. Would have had him as best - but he was a bit lazy in some efforts and a few too many dives
3. Embley - another who faded a little it seemed - but won the game early on. Really impressed with him this year and would be bordering AA wing at the minute (also spent time in the centre square)
2.Nicoski - superb game - lecca stole 2 goals off him - set up repeated scores in our forward line - twas hard to tell on Tv - but looked like he ran himself ragged
1. Darling - look contested marking - he kennedy and lynch are looking very potent rotating through the key spots.

Geez - i wanted to get votes to emac, butler and glass as well. Didn't in the end because i reckon a lot of work was done for them by the midfielders and half forwards who killed the supply.

Other notable points - mcginnity shut down bennell, not an overly tough job - but was proficient. Also - i mentioned this in the game day thread - his ball drop has changed - i nearly choked when i saw him spear a pass.

The q-stick - his decision making is vastly improved - and he is regulrly contesting packs and bringing the ball to ground. This is close to career best form for the man - even if he didn't exactly smash the game tonight

Lastly - Gaff's handpass in the last quarter (far wing) was sublime - i think i remember reading that he lacked penetration by hand - but that was a lightning bolt out to shuey i think

Iv'e been trying to tell everyone this since December.
He is getting faster at training and his handpassisng is the quickest in the team now.
He will be the no.1 midfielder in the league very shortly

Lynch is also getting faster in the sprints but no one wants to believe me.

Thought the top 3-4 were almost interchangable in votes. Really impressed my Priddis' increased output, have no doubt that Kerr's return is helping

5. Priddis
4. MacKenzie
3. A. Selwood - destroyed Davey
2. Kerr
1. Cox

HM - Everyone, not one passenger tonight

Clearly!;)

5 - Priddis - brilliant ... E87 I will save you the trouble of setting off 3 pages of posts again if you like. Priddis doesn't kick enough, insufficient attacking presence, was responsible for Jamar getting 27 hit-outs, would have won by 100 if he wasn't there
4 - Darling - 3 goals, 9 marks, 5 contested marks which is remarkable for anyone never mind an 18 year old kid. Great performance once again - would take something fairly special for him to get a Rising Star nomination this week.
3 - Cox - Great form continues, just the link man for so many attacking movements.
2 - Nicoski - Wow, I would have cut him ... love been proved wrong! Tackling pressure was immense ... 2 goals, 3 goal assists and a couple stolen off him by Lecca.
1 - Embley - Great gut running and a real attacking midfield presence, just pips Kerr and Ebert for the last vote.

HM - Pretty much everyone - didn't think we had a bad player tonight

haha GO EAGLES was right!

5 - Embley - was in everything early when the game was there to be won
4 - Butler - Quieter as the game wore on but he was great defensively and set up allot of forward thrusts, great foil for Hurn
3 - Priddis - started the first quarter slowly but his 3rd quarter was very good I thought Shuey put on a Priddis wig.
2 - Kerr - Would be higher but he lacked precision, really did his part in the clearances
1 - Scooter - Nullified his opponent and picked up allot of posession, he used it well and got us forward also had 5 clearances

HM: Cox, Rosa, Nicoski and Darling

Really any of the HM's could be in the votes.. I didnt put Cox in because he went to ground allot (free or not you dont go to ground) Darling probably should be in the votes 5 contested marks, 3 of them inside 50 kicked 3 goals pressure was awesome and he was always hunting opp players. Rosa just had a solid 4 quarter effort and Nicoski played the best game I have seen him play for aeons.
