Encouraging - Martin (decent job on Ebert), Miller (worked hard)

3 - Davey - another good game, similar to last week, but still not overly damaging. Kraka was matching him early in the game at the other end.
3 - Green - good game
2 - Bate - looked dangerous
2 - Morton - very solid
1 - Bruce - missed that goal but did well generally
1 - Bennell - liked what I saw

Agreed Bennell looked OK.

Meesen did more than I thought he would and might actually force PJ (woeful today) out of the side.

How can Tredrea kick 6 considering we have Warnock/Martin/Rivers/Frawley in our back six - the only area we actually have some decent talent?

Bennell is really starting to impress me with each game. Rd 1 I didn't really even notice him, but these last two games his poise and elusiveness give me a feeling that he will become a very good player in the future. Jetta's form highlights how good Wonaeamirri's debut season was, geez I'd like to have that boy back.

I really think we are one key target short of what we need atm. Whether Robbo is fit and ready, of Juice gets plonked at FF, or god forbid Dunn gets a chance to play as a permanent forward, we get too predictable with only Bate and Miller.

I like Bennell's willingness to have a run out of the backline, especially given the fact he seems to know when to go and when not to, as opposed to one Simon Buckley, who hits the accelerator far too often for my liking.

Somewhat worried about Rivers' upper body strength. Granted he's designed to play as a quasi loose man in defence but you need to be able to hold your own should it come down to a one-on-one and frankly, he was found wanting in that area a few times today.

Very generous. He tried and made a fair few tackles today but his game was generally irrelevant.

Note to Cale Morton: don't kick 30-40 meter passes to short players like McLean in the centre of the ground, they have no hope of marking it!

How was McLean's attempt at hitting Miller up on the lead in the 1st term?

Laughably bad. It was a simple 15m chip and he grubbered it about 5.

TBH, if McLean isn't carrying some sort of injury then I think he is in some serious strife for the long term (it pains me to say it). Having said that I would also be a little surprised if he was at full fitness based on how he has played. At this level of footy though he just doesn't have enough strings to his bow atm.

-He's slow! Centre breaks or chasing are out of the question

-He's short and can't get off the ground to contest a mark

-His kicking on the run is very poor and from set shots/passes lacks power these days.

-His vision to use other players or get the ball out in congested situations is limited.

On the plus side:

-Ethic

-Makes tackles

-Is an extractor like Jones at the bounce but moving it on is often cumbersome.

Meesen - 2
Davey - 2
Green - 2
Bruce - 1
Bate -1
Martin - 1
Frawley - 1 (Motlop 19 pos, 3 goals is a fair effort, normally kick 10)
Morton - 1
Bennell - 1

Brock: Was better than Rd 1 and 2 yesterday, he is getting fitter and improving. Don't bother over analysing his games. He'll turn it on shortly.

Bennell: All class, and I think the coach likes him, we just need him to get a crap opponent each week so he doesn't get burnt the other way because as a defender he is still learning

Jetta: I like him in the midfield, give him a couple of years, he is more than just a small forward like his cousin Leroy. Maric to take his place this week.
