I've just come home from the Gabba. Living in Brisbane I only get one chance to see the Eagles live per year, and in the last couple of years it has been a beauty.

I sat behind the goals with the cheer squad so I missed seeing a lot of the footy at the other end, so I'll get my votes after I see the replay in foxfooty this evening.

4. McDougall- Huge, game winning first half. Schooled one of the best FBs going around.
3. Wirrpunda- Superb in the final term when the pressure was on.
2. Braun- Trademark Brauny- courageous, hardworking, on of the engine room players who set this win up.
1. Chick- Restricted the greatest player of the modern era, nuff said.

Would really really have liked to have given votes to Kerr, Wooden, Morrison, Glass, Banfield and Cox.

Solid Games by everyone except Seaby who had a shocker. But Top 5 are..

5. Chad Fletcher- Just been Deadly and very hard working over the past 6 weeks. Interesting stat was Fletcher has the most possessions over the last month of football
4. Chad Morrison- Man this guy has been extremely impressive over the past 5 weeks. His Lowest Possession tally has been 24 and has been destroying his opponents. Funny to think we were all calling for him to be delisted now he is one of our best players.
3. Michael Braun- Did a great job on Akermanis and really ran hard in the last quarter while most of our other players were buggered. Played a key role in the last quarter and won us the game i believe.
2. David Wirrupuna- Really ran hard today. Felt he gave 100 percent for a change today and played a good role in filling in the gaps. Really ran out the last quarter.
1. Andrew McDougall- Really played a great first half. Best footy he has ever played. More Importantly it shifted abit of Brisbanes focus to him and gave Phil more space to run into.

On an Interesting note on AFL.com they have Ashley Sampi as one of the best on field when he only had 7 disposals...

I was so proud to see them play 4 strong quarters today.Chick did a great job on Voss and Embley was good for his first game back in.The whole team was fantastic, it made voting hard.

3) Kerr, his off the ball work was very impressive. The only reason why he got the first free kick of the game was because he took out a Brissy player at the first centre bounce and then Brissy boys tried squaring up.
2) Chick - fantastic effort on Voss
1) Hunter I thought he compleatly outclassed Pike and he is starting to remind me of Woosha (his courage) and Chad Cornes (his marking and reading of the play)


Unlucky = Glass, Braun, Wirra (was unbelivable today), Morrison (was good but Black got on top of him in the 4th quarter) and McDougall.

Everyone contributed well and I'm pleased with almost everyones performances. Jones took a few good marks, Wirra really deserved a few votes too, Judd was generally Juddyish except for that stupid goal he gave away early in the game. I'm sure Matera will be hard on himself and kick 6 goals against carlton next week!

Unusual votes, perhaps, but I believe the game was won because of outstanding defensive play, rather than on weight of possessions or midfield dominance and good delivery to the forwards. In factI very nearly fitted Drew Banfield into the votes.

Everyone in the team played their part. McDougall was in the votes at half time and Matera did some essential things too, whiler Staker and Jones particularly did well as marking half forward targets and defended the forward 50 better than usual. Cox was best big man on the ground.

All in all, gotta be happy!
