He is 4.5% under the team average for the year. Not great, but nothing to cop the crap he is getting. And if he is so bad then why hasnt he been dropped?

Pathetic effort today from a lot of blokes. We were out of the game almost from the first bounce. But im not going to sit here and point out every negative like some seem to.

Cousins... i seriously thought that was his career over when he stumbled off the field. I wasnt even watching the game, just watching him fall to the the ground at the boundry line and have to be carried into the change rooms and was sure he had done a knee or something. Then to come back and play out the game when it was all but lost shows guts and determination that every other player on our list can learn from. As the Tiger Army was singing.. give him another year!

I havent seen any stats from the game but i thought Nason done pretty well, he has gone missing a bit since he was knocked out against Freo but he played pretty well today. Post looked better up forward, went for a huge mark early in the game but got nowhere near the ball.. cant wait for him to take one of those though!

And Gourdis played very well in a backline that was being peppered all day by the ball. Not really his fault and he made the best of a bad situation. The same can be said for Jack who still managed 2 goals after we ignored him for half the game.

When your disposal by foot is supposed to be your best attribute and you are ineffective with over 50% of your kicks then he does deserve to cop some crap for it.

Hey Baazar, do you really think Connors disposal is as efficient as Cotchins ?

Statistically not that far apart. But no way am i implying he is near Cotch, just that Cotch needs to lift his game with his efficiency and Dan isnt as bad as people are making out.

I apologise up front. Wasn't there, had my horse running at Caulfield. 2nd last so a big day all round. Saw last half on tv which doesn't compare to being there so take this with a grain of salt.
They just looked really tired and imo expected of a young list. Cuz just stands out because he is a seasoned veteran, has immense ability and holds the ball til an option appears. Saw some shocking disposal so understand where the Connors bagging comes from, but he's top 10 in our side. Saw Post throwing himself around, good. Need to see first half because the most overrated rookie in history (Goo) spend the second half letting C forwards take uncontested marks. I'm not writing him off, just stop pumping him up so much. Nothing much to like really. But that's ok, we're developing. Just wish the fast break could be stopped occasionally.rather than watch them run down in uncontested waves.

Don't forget Tucky has played off a back flank a fair bit this year, and Cotchin has been tagged most weeks !
The fact that Cotchin has been tagged as much if not more than any other player in our side this year I'd suggest most opposing coaches rate him as one of if not our most effective players ?
Further proof stats are overrated if not used in the appropriate context !

Connors was poor today (especially in the first half). His kicking was terrible and you would expect better from him. I don't understand why people are calling him a hack though, his kicking is one of his strengths and he takes the game on. It is basically his first season in the AFL and he should be much better for it next season.

Deledio wasn't great but he wasn't bad either. How can you expect him to out mark a KPP.

One last thing, I don't understand the comparisons with Cotchin, Tuck and Connors. Cotchin and Tuck are in the contest which is why their disposal efficiency is lower than most others. Connors although ineffective today would have a higher efficiency rating (haven't checked though) than the other two. Terrible comparison.

You are correct. I only used Cotch because he is such a quality player and probably will end up our best, but is ranked 38th for us this year in effective disposals.

which proves stats are BS, so stop using them to try and prove a point. Defenders always have the highest kicking efficiency in the league, so it really was a terrible comparison, got nothing to do with him being our best or ranked 38th you just souldn't compare them period.

I think even in congestion he's the best short kick in our team. The issue is that Hardwick has everybody kicking long as a matter of gospel, and Cotchin is just not a great long kick.

Connors was good in our third quarter run (as were many) but he was otherwise wasteful. Too casual with his disposal or otherwise attempting to thread a camel through a needle. And no right foot. At the minimum he needs a 15-metre get-out pass because he gets himself into trouble.
