NO ONE. That was disgraceful:mad:

Seriously how can we give votes after this pathetic effort. Apart from Massie and Bode in the 2nd half there was not one players who showed something today. Bloody pathetic.

Not good at all.

How loose was our midfield! If your being beaten in the clearances, damn well man up.

Thought Roo & Welsh both gave their all. I'm very worried that Macca still looks disinterested. Our engine room was not V8 material today, but more like a Victa lawnmower. :o

Good to see at least someone is trying to find positives ;)

Yeah Paul, I will be giving votes too, but want to sleep on my selections. I'm not taking the soft option (like the players often did today) just because our performance was crap.

As Blighty said, 1 game doesn't make a season ... but very worrying signs today.

I'll have a vent elsewhere about what was a disgraceful performance by the team and coaching staff. Our worse performance for 2 to 3 years. Nothing short of shameful and disgraceful.

None of my best players are flawless - they all made shocking errors at times - but they did try!!

However, my best 5 are as follows:

5. Ricciuto - the skipper at least had the guts to put in and try to give some of his spineless team-mates an example to follow - which they didn't.

4. Goodwin - Another one of the rare ones who put in for 4 quarters and at times actually used the ball - a rare thing for the team as a whole.

3. Massie - wouldn't expect anything less from him and at least he could put his hand up and say "I had a fair dinkum dip".

2. McGregor - one of the few who could say that they at least broke even for the day. Really put in.

1. Johncock - did some really great things and some very ordinary things.

Best Team Man

3. Ricciuto - as above

2. Massie - as above

1. McGregor - as above

You're joking. None

The only other players with okay performances were Bode for a strong last 3 quarters when he was on, and maybe Welsh to a minor degree.

Our most pathetic and embarrasing performance for many a long day!!! And we waited nearly 7 months to see this crap!!

When was the last time we played this badly?

We actually started OK, but just kicked poorly & didn't put on enough score board pressure early. Most of the misses were not due the game plan, but poor kicking for goal. Then after quarter time we rarely gave a yelp.

1st qualifying final in 2002 at the GABBA when we got spanked. We turned it around the following week against melbourne. Lets hope we can do the same thing here but I can't see it. If Ayres has a crap start to the season will he get fired??????

Best on Ground (not really but anyway)

5 - Kris Massie (The only bloke who can say "Heel, I've had a fair dinkum crack and at least broke even")

4 - Matthew Bode (The only bloke who put his body on the line in the 2nd half. He got a bit of the ball and kept RUNNING. Not sitting around like a pansy waiting for things to happen like most of his team mates)

3 - Simon Goodwin (Got plenty of the ball but wasn't really influencial. )

2 - Ken McGregor (He tried and probably broke even but boy did he make some of the dumbest mistakes ever)

1 - Graham Johncock (Kicked a couple of goals and played well onball in the 3rd quarter. I am really scraping the bottom of the barrell :()

Best Team Man

3 - Kris Massie

2 - Matthew Bode

1 - Scott Welsh (Whe the hell is he being played too far up the ground??????)

Rookie

Get real!!!!!! Why the hell didn't Reilly start on the ground?????? He did one good thing on the wing when he was surrounded by 3 Roos but kept going after it. Note to the rest of the player: Take a leaf out of young fella's book. Thats how you hunt the ball you bunch of pussies:mad: . Hentschel was CRAP. He was given a goal from a free that was NOT there.

I think I'm putting in more effort with this post than half the players today but there were a few that at least tried.

POTY
Massie - had a decent crack
Ricciuto - same
Goodwin
McGregor
Johncock

BTM
Massie
Ricciuto
McGregor

ROTY
Nil. Well done to coaching staff who decided to move Hentschell out of defence where he was building confidence to the forward line where he is back to being a moving point post.

4 Simon Goodwin.
3 Kris Massie
2 Matthew Bode
1 Graham Johncock

TTM

3 Mark Riccuito
2 Kris Massie

Special mention to Welshy who tried his heart out but fell away a bit...more to do with the way the rest of the boys played than his own form. And Dogga had a bit of a crack when he was put up forward.

Best On Ground

5 Roo
4 Goody
3 Kenny
2 Massie
1 Doughty (at least he kicked a couple of goals)

I wouldn't go that far. What Wayne did was designed to get us fired up and it did for the next 5 minutes. At least we got on a bit of a roll but Roos steadied a bit after that. Before Carey did his thing we were not giving a thing.

Biglands n the other hand was dumb. Either way if he didn't get reported (and will get 2-3 weeks) he would have been dropped on this form.

Edwards' skills were unusually transparent in that game against the roos. His bounce from half-back is usually very good, but I was shocked to see him outclassed on several occassions, which I could go as far as deeming, pretty embarassing for his standards.

Votes go to the obvious performers and already mentioned.
