Tiges won 12-13 to 6-4. Coughlan best on ground. From PuntRoadEnd.

geez thats a good result...we're all going to have to keep a lid on it now...i recall last year we had a strong pre season game v Lions...rest is history....I like the fact that TW is taking this prac match series seriously.....This is the classroom and they must learn to win at all costs.....encouraging results to date, look forward to the reports coming in ...

Difference was last year against the Lions we lost. Played well to 3/4 IIRC and then blew it in the final qtr at Coopooroo.

Would be interested to know how serious Brissie took todays game, as by all reports TW saw this as a dress rehearsal for Rnd 1.

i heard richie tambling done a hammy.....if any1 has any info on weather or not he has fully done it or if he was just taken off as a safety precaution would be muchly appreciated....

cheers.....nugget

Hyde B.O.G. by a country mile.

Cogs did a few nice things. Most importantly he got through the game, only coming off near the end. Took one sensational mark backing into a pack.

Knobel totally dominant at centre bounces feeding the midfielders. Keating did better around the ground.

Kellaway and Tivendale controlled the half back line, Brown played well in the middle and up forward.

My top 5: Hyde, daylight then Johnson, Brown, Kellaway and Knobel.

No passengers which was very pleasing. Only 5 on the bench, Brisbane had 8. Very hot the whole match - 33C.

Looked like Tambling had done a hammy but he was running the boundary doing zigzags soon after which probably indicates a rolled ankle. (I'm not a doctor so don't hold me to that). Didn't go back on.

On the AFL site it says Krakouer has a cracker of a game...thats good to see, they also said Richo was getting plenty of the ball. :)

Good win by the boys, and the Lions brought back a few good players for this match eg. Power, Voss, Scott, Keating and our midfield killed em :D

Tuck was really solid again. Kicked a couple of goals. Really hard round the packs he is and can kick the ball a flipping mile

This is what i wrote on another forum, admitedly pretty tanked and sunburnt....

First of all it was great to be involved in proper ,grass roots style game of football.

The ground was quality, the crowd was good and the beer was cold(and full strength).

It's a shame that Princes Park will no longer be a feature in AFL football as it's still a fantastic ground IMO.The G and TD are all very nice but I thought it was great today to sit on an old wooden seat, drink full strength beer and just be able to wander around unfettered like the old days.

Richmond were gunning from the start and pretty much kept up the intensity all day.Terry kept a good balance between trying out new things and making sure we were on top all day.I'm not going to be much help on specifics(due to excessive consumption) but the general feel of the game is that we absolutetly owned them.

In the 1st half Hyde was absolutely fantastic and in everything.I've been most sceptical in the past but i felt he was the leading midfielder in the 1st half.Acker and Voss who played alot in the middle played well but apart from that our midfield dominated.Brown,Bowden,Tivendale and Johnno(both often off the back flank) set up numerous forays forward.Krakour was used sparingly in the 1st half but when put on was straight into it was some fantastic stuff in tight.

Cogs was like the Cogs of old IMO.If he's still carrying some residual effects from his OP he's certanly hiding it well.I made a point of watching his work and I reckon he's pretty close to full tilt now.I've been one of the most critical of his treatment by the RFC, but in my mind anyway, he proved himself not far far from 'cherry ripe' today.

I missed some of the 3rd quarter, due to excessive beer lines, but again the midfield pressure was good.Deledio slots in well, whether he plays in the centre, or as in the 3rd quarter, full forward. It almost brings a tear to my eye to see a 17 year old like him at Richmond. It'll take a fair bit for me to jump off his bandwagon.Tambling also did some sensational stuff.Anyone who was there will remmeber his dummy on the wing then turning on of the after burners followed by a 35m run and text book delivery to Browny.30 metres from goal.

All in all ,probably if anything ,the scoreline flattered Brisbane IMO.We absolutely dominated in all facets bar ,perhaps in the full forward line.We seem to have the structure right, but Rich and Simmo probably missed a few I will expect them to take during the season proper. Also the kicking for goal from set shots was pretty ordinary from others.Brown,` Tuck,Richo and probably 2 or 3 others had shots in front from 30 or 40 out straight in front that they missed.

Simmo was great when on the ball .He's very mobile. Also Knobel is a good aquisition for mine.He certainly is a talented tap ruckman and I felt he at least held his own around the ground. He'll be an interesting one to study on T.V.

I loved the forward line set from the start
Richo in the 'hot spot' with Krak at his feet

Simmo and Brown full forward line

Deledio and Campbell on the HFF wide.It looked perfect to me and the sort of forward line that can kick alot of goals.

Al in all a grea game of football for the RFC.THe Brions had a pretty good midfield installed although Hadley going fdown with a knee in the 1st quartewr hurt them.

We dropped away towards the end with guys like Pike,Scott,Acker and Bradshaw starting to dominate but by then it was wel land truly over.

Bloody hot out there and our fitness looks good.

BOG for mine Johno,Tucky,Cogs and Hyde.Particularly Tucky.Even when he went forward he provided another option.Great stuff.

hyde BOG easily
tambling must of had his toes stepped on coz he had ice on them at the end
cogs made a solid return
richo was playing every where
and the backline stood up well with razor and gas doing very well

Nice report mate :) And it seems that in our 4 games so far Tuck has been BOG all 4? Hopefully he continues into the real season

How was Richo as captain?

Richo was a little dissaponting for mine, but the real positive was that we weren't Richo-centric

Simmonds offers a genuine 2nd target.Something we've lacked for years.

Richo went to the full backline in the last quarter and provided a very Richoesque moment.Taking a mark deep in defence he proceeded to play on through the points and the umpire award Brisssy a point.

5/10

nice win guys, it was a good team performance, u were the better team on the day, keep it up.

cheers thanks mate! it was quite an impresive performance, 3 out of 4 wins isnt nothing to complain about! :D go tiges o5! :D

Well done Tigers. Played well. Excellent win.
This game meant more to your team than the Lions. The intensity simply was not there for the Lions and once Hadley went down it sent a terible message to the rest and everyone started playing just to get through unscathed. Unfortunately other teams test themselves against us and we seem to cop the injuries during pre-season. Charman last week vs Essendon and Hadley this week.
In spite of the thrashing we received there are always positives. It was my first glimpse of some of the Lion's youngsters and I was very impressed by Justyn Sherman. He's a real find for the Lions. He'll top up an already talent laden (injury riddled) treasure chest.
If we play like this during the real stuff in two weeks time, we are in deep manure.

Have a good one all.

Hyde was best on ground. This kid is the most improved at the club.
Cogs welcome back son.Great battle with Voss and his mark backing into a pack was full of courage.
Krakour,s game was encouraging in the fact that he did what he,s there for.crumbing goals.
Tambling,s pace was for all to see.the fact that he took on his opponent and then delivered the ball to brown at full pace was the highlight of the match.
Deledio,s game was ok but this kid has class.
Knobel was suprising.he,s improving around the ground but his tap work is 2nd to none.
Gasper,s game was encouraging.seemed to have his confidence back.

Cambo,s game well hmmmmmmmmmmmm.could be a sad ending to his career.Looked slow.

cheers!

Good effort all round once more. Tambling will be fine no need to worry to much there. One thing I would like to say welcome back coughlan even though he finished a Brisbane players season off haha. Richo will always be Richo lovely play in the backline in the last 30min of play. Tuck makes me think why even if Frawley was coach did he not get much game time last year what a waste.Well done to hyde krak, Johnson and Bowden wonderful games. Plenty to look forward to come round 1 remembering there is a chance that Ottens might not be playing due to bad form :D

All the best tigers 2005
