No real surprises. We're in shocking form. One good quarter against the Port nuffies doesn't change that.

Good that Gumby got thru another one (I hope).

Season to peter out from here. Maybe one or two out of the box performances left, we seem to pull them out for rival games. That'd be good. Other than that, nothing to see here.

Not my preferred option but how does McVeigh miss when we need mature bodies out there.

Agree with comments on Corey 'He of the Olive Tree' He looks like the non English speaking kid trying to fit in.

Hirdy isn't blooding enough kids this season and it's beginning to show with our lack of depth.

Need more players who win the ball for themselves to support jobe and howlett. Was evident when nat rat came on that we are majorly lacking this. The outside runners did nothing, melksham was absolutely useless didn't spread or make any options. Our injuries have killed up, our fill ins like del and bags whilst serviceable and put in good performances against lower teams really get unstuck against quality opposition. Gets frustrating when you can clearly see in the crowd there are miss matches which were killing us yet nothing is done about them until it's too late. On heppel sure he didn't do too much but he did a good job on selwood I thought, just needs to stop trying to be cute and just do more of the basics

The only positive thing is that:

In the next 3 weeks we could have side which has

zaharakis, hocking, crameri, hurley, ryder, winderlich, pears all in the same team

Lol Hurley down back. What a knee-jerk reaction.

If anything ****ed us up tonight, it's how shitty our attack was. Our forward line looked so slow.

Hurley and Ryder would have presented well enough. Crameri obviously still transitioning back into form.

Our defense dropped off, but they had a bad night, big effing deal. Geelong just too good in front of the sticks and their attack was better than ours.

God I hate our supporters sometimes.

Have said Hurley down back all year, tonight's not going to change anything.

game plan doesnt need changing.
backup game plan needs to be altered from jack shit to something that isn't jack shit.
Carlisle is our full back of the future, every week i get more and more sure of it, the one quality you need is to be able to win one on ones, and he has it in spades.
I would of liked to see him tried up forward tonight, we needed something there and he has played forward a bit at Bendigo.

Just would of been nice to have another target forward when thing didn't work for us.

Wake up. Two consecutive 70+ point drubbings at Etihad, with a horrendous 3 qtrs against a struggling team squeezed in between.

Holy shit, lack of depth.

Holy shit.

This knee-jerk shit has gone to exploding proportions. Sheesh, we're lucky to have not lost more than 2 games in a row this year BECAUSE of our depth carrying us through. Come back when we've got players to choose from and we lose 6 in a row. There a problems Hird needs to address, but that's not one of them.

Jesus christ.

lol,

zaharakis has a quad and if he's back in 4 it will be a miracle.

Ryder has a calf and they take about 6 weeks usually and 8 at EFC.

Winderlich has about as much fitness as Michael Long at present.

Hurley has done 3 or 4 hammies this year and if he comes back he's unlikely to last a game.

Pears has no form or fitness so we are crossing our fingers.

Cant really say much about our big forwards they didnt really get much delivered to them all night

bring back this guy

Yes, because nothing else like important cogs missing all over the ground, or our attack, or our composure, or the efforts of the whole 22, ec; matters in any sense...

Yes.

pls.

And St Kilda were not struggling.

Can we pleeeeeease have Browne in the team next week?
I'd love for Myers to not have to play defence.

Heppell... hurts me to say but he needs to have a game in the twos I think. Has been pretty poor lately.
Melksham... surely the faith runs out at some point?
Heppell - can't cope with hard pressure, and is purely an outside player ATM - knd of like Stanton from 3 years .

Hepps has been one of our best players over the last 3 or 4 weeks and was one of our best tonight.

I've always thought Hurley's best position is down back, and I think so has Dons4, so not really a knee jerk

That the team is slowly changing from "Hurley's position needs to be the one that's best for team" to "What's best for the team is playing Hurley is his best position" means these discussions will pop up every now and then

---Fletcher--Hurley--Hardingham--
---Pears------Carlise---Heppell---

Which team can kick 16 + goals against that?

yes, so far tonight I have read.

Hooker and Melsham (how bruce says his name) to be traded for caddy.
Hooker to never play again.
Heppell to be dropped
Stanton to be dropped.

Thats probably on a small sample too. Fact is if we had better players they would be playing. I was pissed off tonight but we are still a developing side
and we got smashed by a hardened team who were desperate for a win. The only thing I am really becoming concerned about is the significant drop in defensive pressure from the first half of the year. Personnel is no excuse for that as collingwood has shown and this area needs to lift asap. We have become the hunted in that area but dont fight back with the same desire.

There does need to be changes for next week but im not going into that right now.

Hurley, Crameri, Ryder, Gumbleton, Daniher (next year)....good problem to have however can't all play at once, let alone in the FWD 50.

Comes down to which 2 have the most experience to be used down back when Hooker and Pears INEVITABLY have their 12 our of 14 bad games a season (should they be retained...)

The way I'm looking at it, Head n Shoulders Shampoo should be offered as trade bait for a developing tea, that needs a competitive spine (WBD, Demons, GWS, GCS, Freo, Blues, Port)

Surely we can pluck some second round draft picks out of that lot of also rans...
