Anyone know when this is happening? I'm keen to learn where Gaff and Lycett will be playing in 2011. Well, Lycett anyway - Gaff will more than likely be in the seniors for much of the year.

Coincidentally there's an article in the west today. Draft happens next week - Perth have picks 1, 4 and 9, Peel has 2, 3 and 5 and the other non finalists have the rest. Perth expected to take Lower first.
The article says Griffin is in the draft, and seems to overlook Roberts. I assume that's a mistake

Sibo will stay with Perth as long as he is on Freo's list. If he gets delisted then he automatically becomes a Claremont player again.

Unfortunately I don't think Souths will have Gaff for too long Tundra. He'll play some early games and see how he goes and if he goes as well as expected he'll be at AFL level.
Now to my second quandry, why did subi take Anthony? Wouldn't they have been better off with Roberts, I know nothing of Mellington? Surely Anthony won't play many, if any, WAFL games?

I agree with your query, maybe Tim Gossage is in charge of selections !!!!.
I really hope Peel & Perth start to head upwards with the addition of these players.
Swannies, I did write on the Freo board that Gaff was the one guy I didn't want as i think he'll spend most if not the entire year in the AFL. Happy to have him if he doesn't though.

Even more baffling after I saw Waterman at the Eagles closed training session, watching.Swannies, I did write on the Freo board that Gaff was the one guy I didn't want as i think he'll spend most if not the entire year in the AFL. Happy to have him if he doesn't though.

Yep and we don't meet until Round 5, so hopefully he's still in the red and white then, but I have some questionmarks about that. Gaff v Coniglio could be a beauty!
What's Mellington's gig? I've heard the name but my brain has refused to start working since Christmas and I can't remember much about him.

Yep, Roberts is from Norwood. About 190cm 77kgs. Highly rated junior who is on our rookie list. There was talk he wasn't drafted (in main draft) because of injury concerns (shoulder i think), so very happy to have got him as a rookie.
Josh Mellington is from the Murray Bushrangers and was the youngest player drafted in the last draft. Probably would play a lead up role in the forward line as the 3rd forward. Good in the air and very good on the ground. A genuine natural goal kicker, finished second in the TAC goalkicking. Finished 4th in the TAC B&F. About 187cm and 81kgs.

Ah, so another Edwards/McKinley clone then. Small/mid sized forward playing as the main forward in under age comps and doing well. Sorry for my skepticism, seen it twice at the Eagles. Roberts, however, does look like he has something going for him and can't believe Subi didn't think they needed midfielders??

But seriously, one of his sticking points is his defensive pressure & tackling if I remember correctly so that immediately seperates him from the spuds you mentioned, also he appears to have a very mature and level headedness about him, he has already impressed a lot of people this preseason with his application to training.
