WAFL Preliminary Final, 2009

I am seething and my crosshairs are firmly set upon Adam Hunter, Clancee Pearce, Tim Geappen and Llane Spaanderman

Ames, Notte and Davis were the only ones who I thought really had a positive influence. A few others did relatively OK like Simpson, Potente, Robinson etc. Most were down or downright awful.

It's gotta be said, the class of Notte has really come to the fore during the finals - particularly compared with Geappen. Whilst Geappen has had a superior year, in the finals he went missing whilst Notte lifted.

Well, f&#%^%n said. I've been seething about those 4, plus more, for the last 3 hours whilst watching the colts. At least I had a blast at the colts with some parents in the outer. I was the guest "cheerleader"! Go PEEELLLLLLL!:thumbsu:

Firstly, well done Subi, good luck next week.:thumbsu:

Swans needed to find some heart in the second and it was Davis and Notte, IMO, who really tried to stem the tide. The rest took short steps or played with themselves on the field. On a positive note, we didn't lose a final to Subi by 10 goals and the crowd, around the three quarter time huddle was pumped and just about got the team back into it.

Cheers for the good luck Swannies and sorry it didn't work out for you guys.

Great day from a Subi perspective. Firstly (presumably because we were so hopelessly outnumbered in the crowd) some guy in Subi colours came out to the line before the game and gave free tickets to all those wearing Subi colours - you beauty, free tickets!

I thought we were outstanding in the first half - Fletcher was dominant, Horsley was very good, our forward line (Smith, Mapleston, Dennis-Lane) looked dangerous and our back-line/defensive players (Parker, White, Keevers in particular) were holding their own against some pretty talented opposition.

After half-time it was a different game, with the exception of Mapleston and a few of our defensive players who did well under the pump it was hard to find a winner for Subi. But thankfully we held on, a bit lucky given some of the disposal errors and missed goals from Swannies (how bad was Clancee Pearce?!)

I have no doubt that this will be our last chance at a flag for a fair while - our side is getting on and it is starting to show (plus I am guessing a lot of retirements at the end of this season) so really pumped about the opportunity to get one last flag for the mighty Lions!

Well said Underdog i have been a fan of Adam Hunter as a player but he had an absolute shocker yesterday he could not do a thing right. As bad as we played Mapleston was the difference & Hunter was on him for just about the whole game...Dawson should have moved Bowers onto him & moved Hunter to the forward line where he looked dangerous last week. Pretty ordinary coaching all round from us imo why where Davis & Naita on the bench so often has also got me stumped???

Great win Subi :thumbsu: I thought it was over at half time but to swans credit they fought back pretty hard in the 3rd and the first half of the last but just could not convert (Luckily on Lions part)

Good crowd & was great to be there cheering on the mighty Lions.

Daniel Chick did some great stuff off the ball which probably went unseen on the TV :)

Pitty I can't be at the GF next week but fourth straight is going to be a mighty hard test to get over Souths.......

C'mon Subi.

Great game from the mighty Lions, set it up in the second quarter with seven goals into the breeze. Next week will be a real test for us but if we can produce some of the footy we played in the second term yesterday we are in with a real chance to make it four in a row.

Carn the Lions!!! :thumbsu:
