Brownlow Medallist
Apologies for my lateness, unbelievably hectic week. I'll concentrate the most on the exciting elimination derby.
Hopefully the Lions beat the Thunder so the Swans avoid the spoon too, sorry Peel fans.
The other interesting thing about this season is the last time a team that finished bottom had 5 or 6 wins was a long time ago, I think around 30 years ago, suggesting the competition is pretty even. More on that next week though.
Big ups to the WAFL for promoting Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation and making it Zaidee's Round.
I don't often compliment the WAFL but they have been proactive and done a good thing here.
Bulldogs v Sharks
For a place in the top 4 and finals action, what a derby to have. Freo Oval should be chock full and rocking. Either way their own destiny is in the hands of the two teams.
The Bulldogs may end up rueing their loss to Swans a couple of weeks ago and they'll have to come out with a bit more spark than in that game. Their game has been built around running. Wilson and Murphy give them too decent key forwards, but they have been patchy much of this year but that may be because of the roles, with injuries to the team, they have been required to play. Hayward looks a likely type and he will be required to shoulder the ruck role all day, with Murphy giving a chop out, it looks. 3 of the 4 ins are runners so that shows they need more run against the sharks. Young Woods is back in and hopefully plays, because he is an exciting player around the forward line and I suspect there will be a few crumbs around the forward line today.
The Sharks have a great running division but were overrun last week, by the Lions. Stevens remains in, he's been a prime mover for the Sharks this year, so his shoulder can't be too bad. Brennan is also back in, along with Dunn, Monaco and Monteath, so more run. The O'Briens are the key to stop, in my mind. When the Sharks win Rob usually has a day out and kicks a bag. The other mids, like Houlihan, Dalziell, Monteath, McGough, Hadley, McNamara and the 'rotations' - Monaco, Fasolo, Bob will need to go up a level and support McGough and co. Brown should end up on Eagles teammate Wilson, which should be an interesting battle, with Dodd taking ex Dockers teammate Murphy.
I think the Sharks look too strong, but in derbies anything can happen.

Demons v Swans
This game is so interesting they haven't even released the team lists on the WAFL site. That just about sums it up. Although Perth could finish the season really well and finish off better than they have for a while, but Swans seem to have the wood over them. I'd write more but I've got to leave.
This should be an even match and I suspect Swans might win but..... Now, is that having an each way bet, or what?
