Round 3, 2005

South Frem v East Frem at Fremantle Friday, April 1, 7.00pm
Claremont v Peel at Claremont Sat, April 2, 1.45pm
West Perth v East Perth at Joondalup Sat, April 2, 1.45 pm
Swan Dist v Perth at Steel Blue Bassendean Sat, April 2, 1.45pm

Yep Adam Lange is playing well again.

Probably competing with Shane Beros as Swan Districts best player.

I always feel a bit miffed talking about Adam Lange because he played all his junior football with Subiaco, then colts with Subiaco and a number of league games as well.

For some reason when he returned home he decided to play for Swan Districts.

Damn!!! subiaco have the bye this weekend.......would have been a chance to build on their percentage lol :D

I understand that Andrew McDougall may be lining up for the Demons against the Swans.

Better play him in the ruck as he may catch a cold at Full Forward.

May as well play him at full back. He'll get plenty of marking opportunities down there. Not sure whether he will get any kicks tho lol

Full Forward.

FF for the Demons is certainly not the place to be gaining match fitness... :o

Tips:

The mighty Red and Whites to thrash the luckless Sharks
Claremont to do likewise to Peel
Swans to do likewise to Perth
Joondies in a close one

Sturt recruited him as a teenager i think back in 98. He was a good player for us but then got drafted and was close to signing with us last year but his missus didnt want to leave perth. Oh well, all the best to them and him in his footy!!!

Yep true Jimmy, he was very young when he left.

I'm not sure if you know this but his younger brother, Tich also played colts, reserves and league for Subiaco.

He was adopted by the Lange family from Zimbabwe and became the first black African to play league football in WA.

He was also very talented and like Adam represented WA in state 18's.

Unfortunately he quit after playing 4 league games which was a shame because he was a player I really enjoyed watching.

Anyone know how Aiden Parker is goins this year, we where really dissapointed in him leaving last year after he was droped of the Crows rookie list???

Yep Parker is going ok.

Playing CHF/CHB for Subiaco.

Hasn't figured in the best player list yet but has been solid.

At least he came back to us, after a stint away, unlike Langey.

I think that means there are only three Subiaco players in the SANFL this season.

Brant Chambers, Luke Toia and Craig Parry.

Oh yeah, Chambo. Didnt know he played in the wafl? thought he was from darwin.

Stinga, how did Chambo go over there? he has been at sturt for the last 4 years, this being his 5th and has carved out a nice little career so far. His kicking has improved as when 'gas' started, he was terrible in front of goal. He has won a flag and regularly boots 60+ a year.

Jimmy, Chambers was very young when he was playing for us and was really only a handy reserves player.

But obviously he is a way different player now.

We have a group of supporters who watch the reserves and give away an award each week and in all truth I think there were a few of us thought he would never become a regular league player.

We were wrong!

We did have high hopes for Craig Parry.

He played state 18's for WA and had played 17 league games in his first two years, so we thought he was just about ready to be a league regular.

But good luck to Brant. I've seen him on foxfooty and he has definately stepped up.

Going to miss out on the big derby at that hole known as Arena Joondalup! I will be at the colts game though, which is the curtain raiser to the WCE v Geelong game.

Hopefully the lads can get up and get our season on track after a poor start in all 3 grades!

Can anyone tell me if Matty Rosa played this weekend?Plays for west coast but I think he's only be in the 2's. Thanks

Matty

Rosa has been playing league for Peel and has been very good.

Jones hasn't played a game for Perth yet due to injury.

Thanks mate. I noticed Perth struggled for goals last week - Lumby Jones should help out there!

Talking points from the week:
* The re-emergence of West Perth and the sudden decline of their rivals East Perth.
* The retirement of West Perth legend Brendon Logan during the week.
* The abysmal weather continues, rain, storms, wind and cold.
* The Hams twins making an impact at South.
* Too many Interstate recruits not having an impact.
* East Perth's Michael Clark suspended for 4 weeks for taking out Claremont's Rory Walton.
* The pressure is on coaches Dave Dunbar (East Fremantle) and Stan Magro (Perth) to perform with fans shapening the knives.
* More lopsided results
* Chris Maguire kicks 5 goals for Swans against his old team Perth.

Did McManus kick 3 goals?

Also, in the Subiaco tally for last week a goal was missed. Can you check this for us?

Subiaco
Goals: Larkins 6, Oakley 5, Pickett 3, Smith 2, Cossom 2, Crowley 2, Robbins 2, Haynes 2, Nicoski 1, Keevers 1, Webb 1

Keep up the excellent work, this is a great coverage.

Sorry about the missed Subiaco goal .....and I was at the game as well!

Luke Newick was the other goalscorer.

I'm not sure about McManus or the Perth game.

I'm just quoting the WAFL site for that game.

Thanks for the news on young Matty. I hope he does well. His 2 older Brothers are good players too. But Matt's the only one to make it through to AFL level.
