Subiaco vs East Perth
The inclusion of Fremantle Docker Jarrad Schofield and experienced defender Todd Holmes will give the Lions the edge in experience for tonight’s clash with East Perth at Leederville Oval
Schofield was named on an extended interchange bench with youngster Ryan Silvester, the only additions to last weeks squad.
Desperate for a win to stay in contention with the top four East Perth have been hampered with the losses of prolific ball winners Jeremy Humm (ankle) and Daniel McConnell who has been named on the West Coast Eagles squad for the Sunday encounter with Hawthorn.
McConnell may still play for the Royals depending on whether he travels with the team today. Clint Ernst has been omitted and named as an emergency but may get a reprieve if McConnell is unavailable. Adam Edwards and Clint Zabaznow are also named as emergencies.
Coming in for the Royals are Michael Swan, Michael Clark returning from suspension and Craig Glancy back from injury to compensate for the loss of Humm in the midfield.
Claremont vs South Fremantle
Claremont received good news last night with key players Mitch Morton, Beau Wilkes and Evan Carroll all returning from injury for their important match against South Fremantle at Fremantle Oval Tomorrow.
Morton one of the instigators for Claremont’s great start to the season has been sorely missed over the past fortnight after suffering concussion in the last quarter against Perth in round 5.
Key position players Beau Wilkes and Evan Carroll also return from injury for the Tigers who will look to get back on the winners list after two lack lustre performances.
Wilkes will add strength to the Tigers forward line that has lacked productivity the past two rounds, while Carroll will be one of many options to counter Bulldogs spearhead Evan Hewitt.
Also added to their squad are Andrew Taylor and Jack Reagan after solid form in the reserves. Rowan Jones was not named in the Claremont side having not come up from a shoulder injury suffered against Subiaco.
Victims of last week’s loss to Swan Districts are midfielder Kane Loxley who was unluckily omitted and Rory Walton who is injured.
South Fremantle will look to stablize their position at the top of the table with the welcome addition of 2004 Best and Fairest winner Toby McGrath from injury.
Jaymie Graham has been named in the West Coast Eagles squad and will be major loss for the Bulldogs.
Another major loss is key defender Chad Duxbury who suffered a knee injury.
Coming into the side with McGrath is inexperienced players Leigh Sheehan, Cory Amato, Aaron Bowers and Tommy Corbett-Wynne.
Perth vs Peel
Perth will look to move off the bottom of the ladder against Peel on Saturday at Eftel Oval but will have to do it without Brad Hardingham and Andrew Glover who are both out injured with hamstring strains.
Docker defender Robbie Haddrill will also be missed due to his inclusion in the Dockers squad to tackle Collingwood on Sunday.
Dion Woods was not named in the Dockers or Perth side, adding speculation that he could be injured
Seven players come into the squad including Aaron Zucconi, Michael Burford, Rob Rushton, Paul Maher, Brent Davis, Nathan Elari and Brett Claudius.
Peel Thunder have included Matt Battye and Ben Wright in their squad after their win over East Fremantle last week.
Two players not in the Peel Thunder squad are Brad Moore and Dwayne Watkins.
Swan Districts vs West Perth
Ruckman Tallan Ames will be a welcome inclusion into the Swans side that demolished Claremont at Claremont Oval last round.
In contrast West Perth has major injury concerns entering the game that could set up their season.
The Falcons have lost the experience of Rob Hunt, Brendon Fewster and Clayton Lasscock and rising star Mitch Leithhead. Hunt and Leithhead have hamstring injuries while Lasscock has a medial ligament complaint and veteran Brendon Fewster with knee soreness.
Coming into their squad are Piet Rogers, Tyson Lord, Mark Fitzgerald, David Crossland, Ben Anderson, Dylan Eiffler and Emmanuel Ihanimo.
Into the Swans squad are ruckman Tallan Ames, Clint Hampson, Clint Gribble and Andrew Pruyn while Daniel Richmond will miss with a hamstring.
