Round 11 proved to be the hardest round for the season with three upsets across the round playing havoc with the tipping this week. No-one tipped the card for the round but two proved to be a pretty good score in the end. Miguel Sanchez picked up the bonus point this week to finish with a very handy three points for the round.

With 11 rounds completed, samFFC remains in the lead on 36 points with Falconista and gaskin tied for second place on 35 points.

Round 12 Fixtures

Subiaco vs Swan Districts at Leederville Oval (2:10pm)
Peel Thunder vs East Perth at David Grays Arena (2:10pm)
West Perth vs Claremont at Provident Financial Oval (2:10pm, margin)
South Fremantle vs Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (2:10pm)
East Fremantle vs West Coast Eagles at New Choice Homes Park (2:10pm)

Round 12 is on the horizon and with the bye rounds complete, we're back to five games this weekend all at 2:10pm on Saturday afternoon. The first match of the round has Subiaco hosting Swan Districts at Leederville Oval. Subiaco had a shock loss to West Coast Eagles in Round 11, facing an Eagles side which had several AFL-listed players, some of whom are among the first picked in the senior side. Despite trailing by five goals in the third quarter, the Lions fought back to within a goal but fell just short come the final siren. After defeat last week, Subiaco will be keen to make amends and face a Swan Districts outfit who had a disappointing loss to West Perth at home. Swans got off to a slow start against the Falcons, trailing by 17 points at quarter time with the margin increasing at every change to eventually lose the match by 47 points and lost just about every stat for the game aside from registering more hitouts. Both clubs go into this one keen to prove a point and should put on a good show on Saturday afternoon.

Peel Thunder play host to East Perth in the next game to be held at David Grays Arena. Both clubs had the bye last week and come into the game with a week's rest, Peel Thunder put on a spirited effort to lead all day against Claremont in their Round 10 fixture but were overrun in the final 10 minutes to fall to a frustrating seven point defeat. East Perth meanwhile registered a shock win over South Fremantle, stunning the reigning premiers by five points and perhaps should have won by more if it weren't for some errant kicking in front of goal. This match is a big one for both clubs, Peel Thunder go into this game on a four match losing streak and need a win to stay in touch with the top five while East Perth also need a win to remain in the hunt for a top five berth and victory would give them back-to-back wins for the first time in 2021 and also some momentum heading into the second half of the season.

South Fremantle take on Perth in the next fixture with this game to be played at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. South Fremantle had the bye last week but fell to a disappointing loss to East Perth in a big upset in Round 10. That loss saw the Bulldogs remain a game and significant percentage outside the top two and will mean they'll need to knock off the teams above them to try and take top spot on the ladder. Perth had a point to prove against East Fremantle and despite several big name inclusions, the Demons lost to the Sharks by 26 points and were in turn replaced in sixth position on the ladder by Old Easts. This game should be a good one in my opinion, the Demons match up very well on the Bulldogs and have beaten Souths in their past two matches so expect a close encounter here with both sides eager to rebound from their recent defeats.

East Fremantle battle West Coast Eagles in the final game of Round 12, to be played at New Choice Homes Park. The Sharks scored a good win over Perth, upsetting their Demons on their home turf last week which pushed Old Easts into sixth place, one win outside the top five. Victory for the Sharks could see them finish the round inside the top five, possibly as high as fourth if they can win by enough with other results falling their way. West Coast Eagles meanwhile will have their own plans having scored their first win of the season after upsetting Subiaco, aided by a number of AFL listed players on the weekend. It's expected that the Eagles' WAFL team will gain a few more players this week with other players returning from injury so that will see a flow on effect into the side which should see them become more competitive in the latter half of the season. As per some of the other games, this one could prove to be a good one as well with both sides looking good in their previous matches.

Unfortunately there is a no TV game this week so I've selected the match between West Perth and Claremont at Provident Financial Oval as this week's margin game. West Perth impressed last week, rolling Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval to move into fourth place, just one win outside the top three and now boast having won four of their past five matches as per the three sides above them. Things won't get easier for the Falcons though as they face the top of the ladder Claremont who managed a come from behind win against Peel Thunder a couple of rounds ago having trailed for most of the afternoon. Both clubs have produced some great games in recent years and this match is looking like another one with two potential finals contenders going head-to-head on Saturday afternoon.

It's pretty straightforward in the Colts and Reserves this week. All Reserves' matches begin at 11:40am with the Colts' games starting at 9:10am.

The weather on Saturday is looking pretty reasonable with a mostly sunny day and a maximum of 19 degrees expected. It'll be a cool morning though so you'll need some warmer gear if you're around for the Colts' games in the earlier part of the day.

The bye rounds are done and we're back into things now with a full round of games this week. All of these games look as if they could prove to be close and hopefully that will be the case come Saturday afternoon. Happy tipping!!

Round 12 proved to be another tough one for the tipping group this week, one was a pretty popular score and with a few scores of two and three courtesy of more upsets over the weekend. This week's top tipsters were hansie, Freezin and getgaff who all scored three points while getgaff also got the bonus point for the margin this week giving him a very handy score of four for the round.

With 12 rounds completed, that score of four rockets getgaff into an equal share of the lead on 37 points with Falconista and samFFC while gaskin is now outright fourth with a total of 36 points.

Round 13 Update

Earlier today the WAFC released a statement that the Round 13 fixtures scheduled to take place across 3-4 July 2021 for the WAFL will be postponed with the WAFLW Grand Final scheduled for 3 July also being postponed as a result of the ongoing developments with COVID-19 and the current lockdown in the Perth and Peel regions of Western Australia until 12:01am Saturday, 3 July 2021. This decision was made in consultation with all WAFL clubs and was done so in the best interests of safety for all players as well as the ongoing uncertainty regarding restrictions for the coming weekend. Both West Coast Eagles and Fremantle have flown to Melbourne today which would mean neither AFL club could provide AFL listed players for their associated WAFL sides this weekend.

Unfortunately, that means there will be no tipping this week with Round 13's matches being postponed. I will keep a watchful eye over developments with the WAFL in the coming days and hopefully we will see a recommencement of the season the following weekend being 10-11 July but I will keep you all updated in due course. Stay safe everyone!
