forwardflanker, polls can't be added to existing threads if they were started without one. So I've posted your OP from the other thread below, and added in the poll.

I thought this would be an interesting poll looking specifically at their work as half back flankers (I think it's pretty clear that Deledio is the better midfielder)

Both are very fast, good kicks and create a lot of play for their respective sides. Deledio is a superior kick imo however I think Walker is better at breaking the lines and creating play that way.

Here are some stats, though I don't know how relevant they'd be since Deledio has spent a substantial time playing as a midfielder, but I think they highlight how important both players can be as half back flankers.

Walker is 5th in the league for total kicks, 11th in bounces per game and 2nd for total rebound 50's.

Deledio is 18th for total inside 50's and 13th for bounces per game.

I think these stats accurately reflect the value both these guys hold as half back flankers.

So who would you prefer as a half back flanker right now - Walker or Deledio? (ie. no taking into account that Deledio can play better as a midfielder or forward)

Personally I'd take Walker, I think he's a little more damaging with his drive off half back than Deledio. I'm really impressed at how good a player he has become, he was looking like a bit of a flop a few years ago.

Delidio's best is better, but his worst is much worse!

I take Lids though. He can kill you with that outside speed.

Strange poll putting a guy playing pretty much his first season on the back flank against a guy who is no longer playing in that position. Lids would have been a worthy AA for a couple of seasons in a row playing back flank, but was beaten to the spot by some pretty unpopular selections.

Impressive season from Walker but Lids has the runs on the board.

As a HB only I'd take Walker. Not as good a kick as Lids, but still a very good disposer of the ball. More dash though for mine, better in the air and man on man as well as being a good rebounder. I'd actually take Walker as a forward too. Funnily enough though, as a player overall, I'd go with Lids.

dunno why overall but I'd take Walker. He can be exhilarating at times. I don't think he's much as a defender, dunno why he seems to be played there a bit. He is a very good footballer, not that Lids is any slouch.

Delidio has always been underrated. Both players any team would love to have but Delidio just better overall package whether HBF or midfield

Lids and it's not close.

Walker is comparable as a player with Houli.

Lids maybe a better player than Walker, but Walker is a hell of a lot better than Houli

Exactly - large gaps between the three of them. Walker has had a good year but is still along way of Deledios level

Overall he's a better player because he can play forward. As HBFers there's not a massive amount of difference.

Fair point, I wouldn't say there would be a great deal of difference between all three as HBF'ers.

Delidio stands out, but that is more because of how good he can be as a midfield player.

There is a reason why Walker was nominated in so many BF All Australian teams and Houli's name is not breathed upon. Walker shits on Houli as a player and as a HBF. Yellow and Black googles fixed tight here.

This year, as a half back.... it has to be Walker. He was lucky not to have been included in the squad of 40 for the AA team.

Career wise, Lids has him covered.
