I'll be well in my coffin or burnt up when we win a premiership.

Can't see it happening.

Waited 27 years,Richmond players still go out on the piss so the motivation and fitness levels aren't good enough to win a flag.

Apologies for intruding on your board but I have just got to ask whether you all get sick of the crap that comes out of Wallace's mouth?
What terry does for the Richmond Football Club in terms of getting the brand out into the public is a very valuable asset that is only matched by Kevin Sheedy.

Doesn't seem to be a problem for WC....hang on, they are only doing coke.

That is not what he said we he first started, he said the club would be in the finals in the third year, pushing for a flag in his fifth, now he's talking about only making the finals in his fifth year.

He's just looking to hang around.

I remember him saying maybe in our 4th year and definately in our 5th year. And this is only year 3 and we were just of the finals last year. Looking at our list i would be stoked if we made the finals in the next two season because we just have nobody in the 23-27 age bracket capable of being a superstar, and at most we have 4 decent players in the this age group. Tuck, Pettifer, Newman and Coughlan.

He maybe be looking to get an extension but he is also being realistic!

Reality mate. As much as I would like to say otherwise, Richmond are hardly worldbeaters yet.

Thats true, but you'd like to hear that they think they can be wouldn't you?

If you had made the finals you wouldnt have derved your place and you didnt just miss the finals it was a forgone conclusion at about round 15, just like a cricket side bagging a few late ones you gathered a very small dose of respectability.

Last year Richmond beat Essendon, Carlton and Brisbane twice, and the roos. 4 Clubs arguably at their lowest points for quite sometime.

If TW were being realistic he would hand over the reigns to someone intent on seeing Richmond success rather than hear the sound of his own voice.

Taking that into consideration don't you think his predictions for 2007 are realistic? Or does that get in the way of having a dig?

Honest question - do you think anyone talking about a decade of opportunity has lost touch with the modern game? other than the Lions, who rode the back of the team of the Fitzroy merger and top draft picks from the Bears, I really can't see teams staying right at the top for anything more than say 3 seasons unless they have some wonderful, key players. I think the Eagles could do it because they have (had) the brilliant starting 4 of Cox, Judd, Cousins and Kerr.

I certainly dont think Carlton will be resurgent forever when we start the climb up the ladder. Its great to have Murphy and Gibbs as a starting combination but we'll need alot more than that.

Talking about decades like that just seems a bit naff.

Using the term "decade" would have been used as a proxy for "extended period of time" I would have thought. No-ones saying that there will be a grand final appearance every year for 10 years, but a team surely has to be in the mix for quite some time to be a factor. the Swans for example had been thereabouts for years, as was the Lions, Power, the Roos in the 90's/early 00's, etc.

Not trying to gloss over the comment, or agree with a "10 year success period", but don't see a rotational effect with teams coming out of nowhere, being runners up one year, premiers the next then heading back down a year later as part of a life cycle.

Its ****in ridiculous really.

In October Miller was raving about how 2007/08 were our years: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=205117 yet then they come out and say this?

Come on. You cant have it both ways.

Terry and his team have been full of feeble contradictions ever since he got to the club. Its crap like this that starts to wear my trust of the Richmond HQ.

here here just plain old honesty would do. and they show a willingness to make tough decisions.
millers spindoctoring pisses me up the wall. at the end of the day it not only makes him look stupid but the club and supporters as well.

Terry should concentrate more on the players and taking them to the premiership rather than yapping on about it and getting his head in the media!

I agree totally.

I was a bit baffled as to how you could foresee such a sustained period of success that would consist of players that we dont even know about yet.

Im a fan of Wallace as a coach but didnt like his comments on the weekend.

Caros article summed it up for me
