Walsh ahead whilst Rozee was injured.
Rozee ahead whilst Walsh was injured.

To say either is "in a different bracket" is completely dumb.
Rozee best is better than Walsh’s best. Also Rozee is a x2 AA, Walsh is a 1x AA. Rozee x2 top 7 in the AFLCA votes.

They play different roles but Rozee imo is a much more rarer mid than Walsh. There is and will be in the future hundreds/thousands of players like Walsh. Nothing overly special about him ATM is what I’m saying

Eh. Walsh’s best and last uninterrupted season was better than anything Rozee has produced. 30 Brownlow votes and 92 coaches votes, without the benefit of playing in a top 4 side. When the season had one less round. People have short memories.

It was the different bracket comment that was dumb. Rozee better than Walsh as it stands, that’s as far as it needs to go. And certainly not set in stone.

Again as we speak of course. Rozee best is better and more impactful than Walsh’s best.

Maybe I just rate a Rozee type player (mid-forward, speed, skilful) over a Walsh type player (high disposals, high handball, clearances)

Can we agree both teams are happy with their respective players? Who is better or worse is hard to objectively say right now. Walsh was bloody unreal last night in a final which is a huge tick standing up on the big stage. Rozee clearly is the more dynamic mid forward. They are both exceptional in the roles they play for their teams.

It took 12 days for this s**t to backfire.

Rozee a better home and away footballer who wins Sunday Footy Show votes.

Walshy the finals beast.

As it stands

Butters
Rozee
Walsh
Smith

As good as Walsh was he still has issues with his disposal (even on Friday it was shcoking), wheras Butters and Rozee can cut up opposition by foot. Walsh will get a full preseason next year so expect him to challenge the other two, but his ceiling is not has high due to his kicking

This is one of the worst takes I have seen,

Is this Kane Cornes burner account?

Walsh dragged his team over the line Butters got a lot of cheap ball when the game was over and Rozee never got into the game

Walsh Friday night - 71% DE
Butters Saturday night - 60% DE
Rozee Saturday night - 65% DE

Walsh clear best on ground to drag his team over the line going in as underdogs vs a top 4 team.
Rozee and Butters didn't even show up for the game going in as clear favourites vs the 7th placed Giants.

Sorry didnt realise we are basing this ranking over 1 game and not body of work

Walsh had some bad turnovers during the game, and lets be real Melbourne threw that game.

Giants have been playing much better footy and Port weren't clear favourites.

He had some bad turnovers under pressure in an absolute battle on Friday night... Part of the reason for it being such a scrap was players like Walsh who had 43 pressure acts and 8 tackles which is utterly ridiculous in any game let alone a final.

Rozee and Butters meanwhile, were completely unsighted for 3/4 of the match while GWS waltzed the ball through the centre of the ground under almost no pressure at all because the Port mids couldn't get near it.

Walsh had 34 touches and kicked 2 goals while also having MORE pressure acts AND tackles than Butters and Rozee combined on Saturday night.

Body of work is more then 1 season and either way Walsh in 2021 produced a better overall season then Butters this year
Nah, Butters 2023>>> Walsh, port are not a high disposals team just coz he got more disposals doesn’t mean anything. Even at his best champion data had Walsh at a top 50 player due to his ball usage and impact on the game. Butters is far superior

Walsh 2021 averaged more disposals, goals, tackles, clearances, contested possessions and goal assists.

I take it you didn't actually compare properly and will fight to the death for you boy,

Butters is a fantastic level but Walsh has produced a higher level season and has been vastly more consistent than either Butters or Rozee

Again, Butters impact is far superior, Walsh has never been top 10 in the AFL according to champion data, who cares if he gets more disposals, contested possessions, clearance if he does nothing with the ball. Butters throughout the year has been top 5 in the comp. And will probably win the Brownlow, unlike Walsh

So the best you can do is champion data?

They guys who had Brodie Grundy as the "AA Ruckman" at R12?

Walsh in 2021 finished 4th in the Brownlow in a team that came 13th

You can't be this delusional

Champion data also ranked Nic Nat the 'clear best player in the competition' in 2021 in a year where Bontempelli had one of the best seasons of all time for a midfielder and Clarry + Trace weren't too far behind him.

Walsh polled 30 Brownlow votes in a team that came 13th, was 2nd in the AFLPA MVP and finished top 5 in the coaches votes.

Bias aside, don't think its a stretch to say Walsh was a top 5-10 player in the competition in 2021 regardless of what the peanuts at CD say.

Since then Walsh has had two major off season surgeries while the other two have had a fairly clean run at it in comparison.

So he was that good but couldn’t get him team anywhere near finals. Shows how impactful he was. Yet butters got us top 3
And out in straight sets Walsh in the last 2 weeks has won as many finals and was BOG in both games

Also btw Butters only went at 61.8% by foot this year which is lower than Walsh

When his whole argument is "Champion Data" you know he is struggling

Even though Smith is in the title I have no dog in this fight but i'm picking Walsh everyday of the week especially after the last 2 weeks kid was built for finals

2021 AFLCA vote Walsh only had 10 votes 4 times compared to Butters 7 times, only had 93 votes for the year. In the end Champion data and the coaches agree butters was better. But I guess we all have to believe a nuffie like you on the internet
