Can't remember what Radio Station it was but after the Fremantle game they said we'd be looking at getting Jeremy Cameron. Not sure how true this is pretty sure it was Triple M.

He would be another welcomed addition to Tigerland.

Isn't it amazing how we have gone from a destination club to a rabble again in one off season and about 7 rounds of footy. Your point is exactly correct , 4 years of planning and building totally stuffed by 5-6 months of planning and stuffing up in the off season. Imagine if we had of not got Hampson and got Cross instead if Thomas to replace Tucky or actually promoted Miles at the start of the year. Way too many sliding doors moments for mine. What a shocking a year and now the club wants to wave the cheque book around to try and fix it. We sound like Carlton when I read these articles in the paper . The last one was so poorly timed theinday after we capitulated to the Roos. The media department probably thought it gives us supporters hope but just shows to me that they are clutching at straws. Can't even have out own players turning up every week. Who would want to join us?
We were gone on August 18th 2010 Rusty.
2013 was a false dawn as most clubs were rebuilding while we were playing retreads to look good as9th placed CFC whipped us . Now we are a Spud team with a list of poorly developed kids and poorly skilled retreads
It was just another expensive quick fix which went belly up
The club is in denial and refuses to make an honest stance to their 110% paying members ,but they're to stupid to realise the irreversible damage they're doing.
We are now back to the honourable losses excuses and when we get our 3 cheap wins they will be blowing the propaganda everything is back on track for 2015 and for members to get on board.
I think judging from the crowds ,comments on PRE of lost memberships members won't be fooled
unless competent changes are made .

Doubt very much we're getting Cameron. We might be able to shake lose something else from the Giants but I doubt they give up anyone of their KPPs. They are going to have one hell of a line up next year. Boyd Cameron Patton then adding one of Wright McCartin or Durdin. GWS are building a nice little stockpile much like the Suns did with their KPPs.

Put this war chest away until we are actually competitive. We don't need to buy a Nathan Brown type right now (as much as I loved that guy) and pay them overs. Let's develop and get close to some sort of premiership window and use the chest to guarantee it. Panicking at the conclusion of this year could be dumb dumb dumb!!

Nahas + 2nd Rounder

With everyone talking about getting Fyfe and now Cameron, I'm just waiting for the "we can't give up our first round, give them Batch, Edwards, and Grigg and they will take it - MAKE IT HAPPEN!" demands.

Honestly, we should spend the money on coaching appointments and we should use our draft picks, draft a player such as Brayshaw or Duggan, try and offload fringe players such as Batch etc. for late second rounders and try and package that to teams for late first rounders in the hope of getting a slider. Someone like a Clem Smith who has pace and good skills.

Someone like Batch and our third rounder to the Saints for their second rounder (Pick 20-23)
and package Griffo and our second rounder (25-26) to a team like Freo for their first. (Pick 15-18)

Our first rounder: Brayshaw/Duggan
Pick 15-18: Weller
Pick 20-23: Clem Smith

Isn't the war chest referring to salary space? Seems like a waste to blow it on a coach.

LMAO three days on and people still have woken up to this. :drunk:

Seriously though, match day revenue, memberships and sponsorships pay for player and staff wages. However the FTF also enables us to possibly pay for the best coach or fitness staff or whoever. It has nothing to do with our salary cap and the whole war chest like you mention is about us having enough space in the cap to potentially buy a big name.

Dangerfield via free agenecy,
tall forward (1st rnd pick Wright, Keitel, Mccartin or Goddard)
speed- 2nd and 3rd round picks and any other picks we can trade for!
trade please Grigg, Edwards and Vickary for anything we can get.
delist/retire Newman, King, Foley?
Will do fine.

It was because his wife wanted to live in Adelaide rather than Melbourne. Nothing to do with him knocking us back for off field reasons as far as that is concerned
RT it looks like that was "copied and pasted " from an RFC press release. I will backtrack and say that when we "hire someone from outside the club to do a review" they should ask Burgess why he chose Port over Richmond.

He had agreed to terms with us from what I have heard, but wasn't able to sign off on the deal because the wife wanted to go back to Adelaide. Like I said from everything that has been said about the issue it was the only reason why he didn't end up with us. Maybe a further review might uncover something else, but I doubt it.

Not wanting to stir the pot but ive heard he asked many experts who had the best young list in the AFL. Many pointed him to Port Adelaide.

Yep he did say that, but it also fair to say other clubs also were in the mix and I would think we were too. The bottom line was we had him, but his wife wanted to go home to SA.

Fair enough. My source wasnt sure on the wife situation but he assured me he was asking for the best young talent work with.
