I'm not rationalising it, Bubba. I'm just surprised that anyone supporting the current Australian incarnation could possibly take offence at it. It reeks of double standards.

Let's see the hand-wringing over Gillespie's butterfly ball. Clearly outside the rules, but we all think it's harmless. It probably is, but it's outside the law all the same.

If we're going to point the finger, then let's point it at EVERYONE who acts in an unsportsmanlike manner. Not just our opponents.

Roger, i knew id agree with you again at some stage :) , well for the record, Gillespie's action should have been pulled into line, B.Lees antics after every wicket regardless of importance should be looked at etc etc etc .... i think we expect very little from our highly paid role models .... i know people hate this argument but i can guarantee a kid in the under 14's will mimmick his hero 'GillespIE' although calling Richardson a hero is a bit of a stretch

Nicely put, Bubba. I've just watched another Brett Lee send off. ABC Radio are a bit confused on the exact nature of the bouncer and how many are allowed per over, considering we've seen Lee send down something like 8 in a row.

Everyone is guilty of giving their own country too much leeway. It helps to try to see the other side. When I see Brett Lee acting like a knob I try to imagine how I'd perceive Chris Cairns or Shaun Pollock doing it. Same with Richardson. No Australian would cringe to see Warne take a bow in England after catching Gough out for 99 in front of a baying crowd. We'd say, "Yeah, stick it up em." So when it happens to us I just take it in good grace.

I don't agree. Plenty of Australians cringe at Warne; that's how this thread started.

I'm not worried about Richardson though, Lee's was worse, and Warne has done much worse.

One bright spot in what has otherwise been a typically boorish display by the Australians was Justin Langer taking a walk ...

Cripes I nearly stacked the car when I heard that one !

When was the last time an Australian batsman (or any test batsman for that matter) did that ?

Can anyone recall ?

Oh and btw - lets pay due credit to a remarkable pefromence from NZ shall we ?

cheers

Didn't Justin Langer walk yesterday?

Do you think that was a guilty conscience for the fact he was given not out AGAIN when he was out caught off his glove down the leg side in the first innings?

Langer is the luckiest batsmen in the history of Test Cricket.

good to see him come through yesterday when Aussies really needed it - NOT!

Mundine

Mundine gettin his arsed wipped just shows us all how easy his previous bouts were and it is about time that the Boxin Assosiation have planed a true blue boutt for "the man" whom I think is a complete ********, instead of some easybeat whom would probably been a champion of the boxin world about 10 - 12 years ago.

I agree. If he had been given out where he was suppose to, I doubt he would have scored more than 50 runs in the whole series.

I take it you don't like him either jars?

yawn, you people dont know how the game works, we just stand there and wait for the decesion, we dont just walk off, its damn rude and it shows you wanted to get out.

What does Justin Langer have to do to win everyone over. The guy makes more runs than anybody since we started that unbeaten run and still people slag him off.We are going to need him against South Africa i can tell you right now.Flashy players who make runs when the game is over will struggle against a more disciplined attack like SA.The only player in the team i would rather batting for my life before Langer is S.Waugh.BTW why have so many of you got something against warney he has done so much for cricket in this country. You cant expect him to be perfect off the field.
