Short version: if you are currently sitting with family members with different surnames to your own and you use a PO box for your Crows mail you may not be considered to be a group for the purposes of seating allocation at Adelaide Oval.
Long version: My wife and I have been season ticket holders for Crows games together since 1992. We have different surnames as my wife kept hers when we married. We also have a PO box for our mail as there is no street delivery in the Adelaide Hills town where we live. A couple of years ago I enquired with the Crows why we received separate renewal notices and separate copies of the club magazine etc. I was told that as we have different surnames and use a post office box that we are not seen by the Crows ticketing system as a family (they assume we are using a business address for our mail). I asked if we could be grouped so that we only got one magazine and one renewal notice but was told the system would not allow that. I was considering this in light of the letter members have received about seating at Adelaide Oval and the need to apply to sit together if you're not already buying the tickets in a group. I rang the club today and found out that I will need to apply to be grouped with my wife if we want to continue sitting together next year. It may not affect many people but I reckon it would suck if you found out you're not sitting next to your family next year due to this issue. Anyway, solution to the problem is to apply to be grouped which I will do.
If admins want to merge this with the other Adelaide Oval seating thread please go ahead. I just didn't want this warning lost in the general thread but am happy to accept the admins view on this.
