He's always been injury prone. Give him all the time he needs - he needs a full pre season before he hits the park. I don't care if he debuts round 15. Just get his body right.

What's worse about this is we wont get Cloke at CHF. He's training will be modified now towards more of a ruck role. ****.

I was all for getting this bloke - think he has loads of talent.......but Im starting to develop an awful feeling he will spend more time choking the chook than being injury free and getting on the park.

Doubt it mate.......Hammer will be given his chance to ruck as Carlton needs to find out what Cloke is capable of as a Fwd.

He is still hoping for a Rnd 1 debut, its not as if he got into a headbutting contest with a Giraffe at Melbourne zoo and had his head split in 2 ( and half went this way and half went that way)

Mother ****ing pickled duck!! Bad news but hopefully he can make the most of his time in the gym and come out the other side one BIG, FAT KNOCKER.:D

If it's a proper stress fracture it will be longer than 8 weeks . ( Remember Matthew Allen , and Dennis Lillee I think also had one and missed about 9 months cricket at one time ) .

I , too, have a sinking feeling about Warnock . Never thought he was the "" ducks guts " , and haven"t seen or heard anything yet to change my mind .

Hope to hell I'm wrong ! ! !

poor guy , bet he would of like to make a good impression at his new club , now he will have to wait longer...

And people being worried about freo laughing at us ?? that should be the least of our worries... lets worry about warnock getting his body right for round 1 .

Not a good start at his new club for Warnock - a shoulder reconstruction, ankle surgery and now a foot stress fracture, all in the space of a few months. I wonder how long it will take before he realises that his body is not close to being ready for the rigours of AFL? A 211cm, 125kg ruck partner who can take the bulk of the load might be looking a little more attractive right about now for young Robbie than it did a couple of months ago.

Going on the post Cranium made, if it is not the big or little toe meta whatever that has the stress fracture, then the rehab is 8-12 weeks, round 1 is 11 weeks. The downside is no preseason, the upside, he could still be playing round 1 but miss all of NAB preseason competition so could lack match fitness, but could still play in bursts with Hammers taking the rest of the load. I assume that he can keep his fitness up with other training methods, maybe put bulk on too, and maybe even participate in skill sessions towards the latter part of rehab. This is disappointing but not devastating.

A few people think the sky is falling because Warnock has an injury.

There are far too many chicken littles around...

Warnock was always two years from his peak at his weight, so it's just a small setback for one of our ruckmen.

Hampson and Kreuzer are having good pre-seasons and ready to set up.

Jacobs trained well and is another fall back if the other clubs think the loss of Warnock is going to hold us back.
hmm...freo would be laughing at us!:thumbsd:
Freo can't laugh at any club.

The Dockers gave away more to get Tarrant than we traded to get Judd.

Having a Sandilands for a teammate would stop Warnock from getting injured?

Nice argument.

I'm pretty sure the shoulder injury was pre-Carlton.
not just freo:)
The irony.

Richmond are the biggest rabble around with the way they recruited Cousins and tried to break the rules to get him using Polak.

Kids just turning 22yo. For a beanpole ruck I'm not too concerned about it other than what appears to be his susceptibility to injury. I don't think we're premiership material quite yet, so as long as he is being properly prepared for the time we make a real assault on the flag I'm happy.

At 206cm with metatarsal stress fractures while being only 94kg, did raise my eyebrows though.

Hope Robbie recovers O.k i dont think its a big issue but an Issue non the less and expect to see him around Rd 3-4, Hampson should fill the Void for a little while and i am tipping Hammo to really have a good year this year. :thumbsu:

Having Sandilands (or any competent ruckman over the age of 21) would no doubt assist in Warnock's development. He is like an 18 year old starting out with his body. In all reality, the only thing he's done in his 3 years at Freo is put on weight. He still needs to put on a lot more weight to match it with the big boys of the AFL. Warnock went to Carlton because he wants to be the #1 ruckman. His body is a very, very long way off that and if he continues to accumulate injuries at the rate he has so far in his career, it's going to take him even longer to get there. The shoulder injury was pre-Carlton, as was the broken arm and the hamstring problems.

Particularly when he would have been restricted in his training following his ankle surgery.
