I mean really did you think we would turn it around against Collingwood from round 13?

It's gotta be like mental scarring by now we must feel like the England cricket team playing against Australia. I mean **** me we make Lollingwood look so good even better than Geelong every single time.

Apart from Vezpremi who tried hard with good leads which were ignored multiple times there are ZERO positives to take from this game, do we wanna play FINALS FOOTBALL?

I was absolutely LIVID with the amount of good leads from Veszpremi being ignored by our players.

Maybe they really do think he's Nick Davis.

He looks so much like Davo

Speaking of Davo he was at ClubSwans 2nite didnt look very well on that crook leg and sounded unsure when asked if he would be at the club next year

Thanks for the info

I've been thinking how the form over the last few weeks has almost made Davis almost look an attractive prospect to keep at the club. I know he's almost certain to go but hope Roos has a change of heart.

By the end of the game I was just cheering on the swans keeping their record of keeping the opposition lead under 50 points or is it 60

That dubious free kick in front of goal at the start was a bad sign. It got a lot worse after that.

We seem to get nailed with free kicks in first quarters. So many Swans tackles went unrewarded and so many players tackled before they had the ball or without the ball which is a tactic of Collingwoods.

Skill we are their bitches

I'd like to see the Swans players apply pressure rather than do that coralling crap. Basically we don't go up to them to apply pressure because if they get past you then it's a free posession. But standing off them to force them to kick is the same result anyway. Teams that rush the player and take the game on more often that not force the player with the ball to make an error due to the pressure or perceived pressure they have been under through the night.

Collingwood had players in the hole in front of him alot of the time, due to the slow ball movement..
But hes great overhead mark, alot to look fwd to.
Has to make quicker decisions, he holds the ball a little to long when looking for a lead inside 50.

Completely agree with all your points.

Firstly... the umpiring. We would have been smashed regardless but the holding the ball/lack of holding the ball decisions paid tonight were disgraceful. What happened to penalising a player for diving on the ball or dragging it in or diving on a teammate who is in possession or holding the man after he has disposed of the ball or incorrect disposal? And don't get me ****ing started on blatant discrepancy in umpiring marking contests from one end of the ground to the other. Barry Hall gets absolutely r*ped by defenders every week yet Cloke managed to score a free kick for what I can only assume is a new rule that doesn't allow defenders to be in the vicinity of a forward.

You're right about corraling the players too. You'll find that 90% of the time if you run straight at the player with the ball he'll panic and rush disposal, the other 10% of the time they'll run straight past you but it's worth the risk to apply constant pressure to the opposition. The only positive I can possibly take from tonights game is that Hall no longer appears to be Wakelins bitch.

yeah, Hall should've kicked 6. Wish he'd get off the angry pills though.

Umpiring was predictably bad. Far too many soft free kicks paid down one end of the park. Blatant frees to the swans going unwhistled until the contest was effectively over. Once the pies got on a roll with that big crowd behind them...their confidence was sky high and ours disappeared. Got smashed in the clearances early, that didn't help.

I swear, the whole backline is in career worst form. Craig Bolton looks like a different player. Leo Barrry is useless. LRT cops enough criticism here so I'll leave him out.

To answer the thread, no I wasn't surprised. I was hoping to be surprised.

Every time we play them, Swan and Pendlebury kill us but we dont seem to put any extra work into them. Tonight Davis joined in, and Medhurst.

no suprise, as surmised by the simpsons:

"LISA: We are Ronny to their Nancy!
BART: Sonny to their Cher!
LISA: Ringo to their rest of the Beatles!"

we are the $2.50 an hour hooker to their pimp

very, very disappointing but not suprising :(
