Also Brayshaw slipping last minute. Gaff swing height is actually at waist level. He got him on a quick split second set of circumstances with Brayshaws positioning. Dumb yes but in Gaffs defense it was not aiming for head contact and going to be a punch to the gut. Was dumb and will get weeks but is no way near what Barry Hall did.

He punched someone off the ball. There is no defence for that.

That Vickery hit was in a game against the Eagles (and on a club legend in his final year), so understandably there was some club on club ire.
This showing of Tigers is different.

Best case for Gaff is 4 and that will be if Brayshaw just ends up with a sore jaw, but it's not looking that way. Worst for Gaff is probably at about 6 weeks. Probably more likely to see him get about 5 so we'd have to make the grand final for him to play in that case. Pretty unlikely he plays for us again.

Could also look at it from the angle that he may just have decreased his trade value, winning a brownlow or coming in the top 3 whoch is where he was likely to end up would have inflated his value, meaning he may yet resign. Plus I don't know how Angus Brayshaw would feel about playing with Gaff now and so Melborune who are a likely destination not play as hard to get him.

Hence the tears.
