For all the warriors on here bagging the supporters at the game, the incident was off the ball and all we knew was that Gaff was being targeted over and over for the rest of the match

Disgusting, cowardly dog act. I don't care how 'out of character' it was, the AFL have to make an example out of Gaff for this. An off the ball punch to the face of an 18 year old kid, knocking out his teeth and breaking his jaw. The AFL are all about appealing to the younger generation. How many kids were at the game tonight or watching at home, seeing a star player belt someone out of frustration?

I'd like to see something like;

- 10 week suspension
- $20,000 fine with every cent going to the Stop the Coward Punch and One Punch Can Kill Campaigns.
- Mandatory attendance to Step Back, Think presentations in WA (or wherever he's playing football next year) speaking to kids around schools about why they should think twice before making a stupid decision that can potentially end someone's life.

Edit - Any West Coast supporters or anyone else trying to defend Gaff, grow the **** up and take a good hard look at yourself.

Thread needs some clarity. People assuming he's a chance for only 4-5 weeks need to reassess. If the reports by Fremantle F.C are correct Brayshaw has a confirmed broken Jaw. We don't know about his teeth and if it is a multiple fracture. That news alone means its 6+ weeks at the bare minimum.

The Bugg incident was intentional, he pleaded guilty and the medical reports cleared Mills of any damage, and Mills played the following week.

Barry Hall's hit as terrible as it was didn't break Staker's jaw and he was still given 8 weeks.

Camerons hit resulted in a concussion and Andrews missed 4 weeks.

To assume Gaff plays again this year is to assume Brayshaw will return before the end of the season= unlikely to definitely not.

Take into consideration that Gaff will plead not guilty when it comes to Intent, he will not get a week less for an early guilty plea.

We are looking at 8 week minimum suspension.

No Eagles are trying to deny what happened, we are concerned for the victim and the culprit and want the culprit to be appropriately punished. Most Eagles would agree, little evidence of Eagles defending the action.

If he did that you’d think he’d have stopped and apologised. That’s clear it will be his argument.

Definitely out of character but most of these hits are that happen 2-3 times a year. Bugg got 6 weeks but pleaded guilty so got a discount- it was 7 initially.
