Watson breaks down AGAIN

Would have to be Hodge- support the batting rather than bowling

Bowling- Mcgrath, Tait, Bracken and hogg will get you 40 overs
Roy back on form now- can get the other 10

No surprise here, the guy is unfortunately an injury just waiting to happen.

Hodge would be the guy to replace Robot, unless the pitch has a lot in it, then probably Clark would get a gig.

Don't be surprised if he gives up bowling in the next 12 months, his body just cannot handle it.

That improves the Australian team immeasurably. They should now be unbackable to win the WC with the only bloke who could single handedly lose a game for them out of the team.

He seriously needs to harden the **** up and stop loooking like a pansy little girl. I think that they shouldnt bring in Hodge.

What a stupid post.

He doesn't react well to injury, but for ****s sakes, if you were in his position and kept breaking down like that, you'd be devastated too.

He wasn't going too bad, bowling was alright and he'd put in a couple of decent knocks with the bat.

I don't think losing him will affect us massively, but everytime he's on the cusp of becoming a valuable player he hurts himself.

How long he's out for?

you train your whole life for one event, the world cup and that is cut short. You wouldnt be mad or sad?

Ive told you a thousand times, do not exaggerate.
I mock you and everything you stand for
but seriously, as a cricketer you want to play in the world cup, it should be your goal. look at Oram, he was going to cut off his finger to play, surely missing out would be a big deal to an international cricketer?

No doubt, but I dont think the World Cup is the 1 event he's trained his whole life for... whichever way you look at it.

Watson breaking down was always going to happen.

Thank god it was now, and not early in the finals leaving us a player short.

IMO, he was always going to be an injury liability and why he was risked in this tournament, is beyond me.

We will be strengthened by the inclusion of either Hodge or another bowler.

Im as big a critic of Watson but he was starting to show some signs of being the all-rounder we need. You've gotta feel for him, everytime he looks like emerging as a player he gets injured.

Re: A complete list of people and things that are softer than shane watson

I think you under-estimate the mental and physical toughness of the .

such is the bigfooty posting community:

if he had walked off and not sooking = doesnt want to play for australia, arrogant = drop him now!

Re: A complete list of people and things that are softer than shane watson

it's not about last night.

he's soft and always has been and i say that as a queenslander btw.

he over trains and doesn't do enough hard work where it actually counts.

he needs to stop hitting the gym and start getting out into the middle more and doing the work there.
