Not sure if there has been a thread on this, but I noticed he tends to throw the ball out a little when kicking, not so much a drop, as a bit of a throw.

Anyone else noticed it?

No. I haven't noticed any major problem with his kicking technique...

i cannot beleive this thread exists
he has played 2 games
for 2 set shot kicks on goal has kicked both of them through the middle
too early to judge anything
stfu about watts until towards the end of next year at least.

Who cares how he kicks it, he is an extremely good kick for goal (See his u/18 games).

Like Bate (Who has a terrible action but is a very good kick for goal) it works for certain players.

because who gives a ****, every player has their little things but there has been a million jack watts threads and its boring.

should i go onto the collingwood forum and be like "nick maxwell has a slightly bigger follow through when he handballs has anyone noticed??"

Did I bag him? I just said his drop onto his boot is a little different. Did I say it was ineffective?

is it that time for you? A trip to the personal goods aisle might be in order

P.S. I have noticed maxwell has a solid follow thru in his tackling, but feel free to come over and disect that on our forum

If you find it boring then why read and post in the thread?

The kicking actions of forwards (and most players in general) is constantly discussed in the football world, he's making a simple observation about Jack's kicking action.

Well that would be obviously wrong.

Maxwell doesn't have time to get any touches in between all the behind-the-play snipes.

More than happy for anybody from another club to believe that Jack does this every time he kicks.

When he picks up the pace of the game and gets more possessions, you'll see what I mean.

Has always been very accurate, drops the ball differently - so I agree
with the OP, very relaxed style, great skills..

Watts and Hill (Freo) are both going to be very good players.

People said Fevola had a weird kicking style and he kicked 99 last year...

You gotta stick with what works, as long as Jack's kicking em straight, who care's how he does it. As long as it's effective, that's all that matters.

Against Essendon he had two set shots on goal, both of them went through, 100% success rate. I don't care how he kicks the ball, as long as it goes through. Same as I don't care about a defenders technique when he tackles or spoils the ball, as long as he does it.

What about Peter Hudson's flat punts averaged 5 goals a dgame with one of the worst looking kicks but so accurate...

I thought Watts' kicking style was textbook the only thing i have noticed is him bent knee rather than a Darren Bennet type follow through.

Leave him alone ALL OF YOU... ALL OF YOU.

But seriously I can't believe you came here to speak about what even in your own words is minor if it exists.

Did you ever noticed how Beams lifts his opposing hand too much when he handballs? Costs him power and distance; I better go to the Collingwood board and start a thread on that.

If you really want to discuss this and aren't simply rubbishing the player, try his thread on the players board.
