He seemed to be only playing the first few games hoping for rain but never came. He could not move at all, playing from the baselinbe which is obviously very un-Arthurs

Im shattered, hope he plays on for next year...

Sort of began with a hip injury he had carried through the week but seems to have been some sort of painkiller mishap which has caused him to lose control of his right leg, knee area. From what he said in the post-match interview anyway

He is cerainly the type of guy Australians love. A solid player but not that successfull and a good bloke.

Very, very sorry about the way he was forced to end his Australian Open.
I was there yesterday, at Vodafone arena and wanted to watch his match (was trying to decide whether to risk it cause of the rain, and go over to Margret Court or stay where we were), and then all of a sudden the score board said he retired.

Of course, we had no idea what happened, till my flatmate told me when I got home.

Very unlucky, Wayne.
