I know WC is probably not the most popular bloke around here, but I find it hard to believe no-one has mentioned his departure.

I for one think it will be a great loss for football as Wayne is one of the greats of our game. Also, we are denied of witnessing more of the spectacle which has developed into the games biggest struggle between two individuals being Jakovich and Carey.

Elvis has left the building

Bunsen, where have ya been, aint seen you much.

Well i don't think he is gone for good, just this season, but it will still be unfortunate missing the Carey/Jakovich duel for a year.
It is very unfortunate, but most of it has been said in other threads.

Been over to the NM board, it's a bit of a mess at the moment. Apparently posts are getting deleted left, right and centre

Regardless of opinions about the guy himself, the North supporters are doing it hard, and that's a real shame because it's so unnecessary

Carey will never play AFL again, this whole sordid off-field mess will follow his excellent skills wherever he goes.

Saturday's game is going to be VERY interesting. The Roos are either going to come out like a team possessed and belt us, or they are going to be a total bloody rabble and be roadkill by half time. Unfortunately for them, I think it's more likely to be the latter.

Jeeze, I'm going to miss those Jako v's Carey contests.

Even last year when both players were struggling with injury, I loved the way they absolutely belted each other around and produced a terrific spectacle for us.

It's a shame the guy had to go out the way he did.
Sometimes champion players aren't always champion people.

I doubt Stevens or Archer are playing right? If Stevens is playing i would rather Cousins, Kerr, Judd, Jones, Braun etc etc be rested :D Stevens could be ready to vent some frustrations and what better way than to polax an unsuspecting Eagle. :D

I was in shock when I heard the story. As much as I love watching Jackovich give Carey a towelling, you have to recognise Carey as a champion.

This time I think his huge ego took him too far and now it has come back and bit him on the a$$

Champion or not, what he did was wrong and morally so too. Whatever respect I had for the guy is gone.....

People on the Kangaroos board feel sorry for Carey, but the one everyone should feel for is his wife........and she is the forgotten one out of all this mess....

I mentioned it, but it got censored and hence deleted.

Why the hell are they being deleted?
It has happened...Carey has proved he is scum......

If BF are worried about being sued because of our comments, then Carey is not the professional he thought he was.....

Remember, the stuff in the media this morning goes a lot further than what was in the media last night. It was all still rumour then

If there's any doubt about the truth they'll kill it for good measure. Case in point - Ch 7 news last night mentioned John Kizon but didn't name the Eagles players named by the Age

Thats true I guess......I saw C7 last night and saw they were not mentioning the players involved......

The Age is reporting today that Leigh Colbert has emerged as a "leading contender" to captain the Roos. They wouldn't seriously consider a guy who has already thrown over the captaincy of another AFL club - would they?

It's just sad mess for all concerned. The timing couldn't be worse either. Just hope it's not the straw that breaks the camel's back at Nth Melbourne.

Losing Wayne Carey is a huge blow to AFL football. No matter how much you despise him theres no denying that he was a superstar of the game

Nobody should be feeling sorry for Carey, he brought it on himself! As much as i feel sorry for Careys wife, the person i feel most sorry for is poor old Anthony Stevens.....his best mate, teamate and wife have both betrayed him! He's getting betrayed by two of the closest people in his life. He must be lost at the moment...

Oh trust me, I have no sympathy for Carey. I am a great believer of loyalty and trust to your spouse, and any man or woman famous or not who cheats on his / her partner is not worth pi**ing on if they were on fire. I just have certain morals...

I have sympathy towards Mrs. Carey (Wayne's other "Best Friend") and Stevens. Both Carey and Stevos wife should both hang their heads in shame......

i couldnt care less about Wayne Carey at the moment, but the person who would be devasted is Anthony Stevens, especially considering that he and his wife recently had a baby, i wonder if he can ever get back to normal.....

Like most of us, I have no sympathy for Carey or Kellie Stevens. I feel the most for Sally Carey - the humiliation of it all being so public! And, of course Stevens & for their little baby too. Fortunately she (the baby) is not old enough to understand what is going on or to be able to read and listen to what is being said.

One thing that I might contradict myself on though, is surely the fact that he would do something like this isn't a total surprise to her, he's had a pretty colourful past in the relationship area. Obviously the fact that this one is SO public and SO close to home, it has hit really hard.

Carey certainly looks devastated - but I wonder what he's more devastated about - losing his childhood sweetheart & wife that he cheated on or, his best mate, his football mates and the whole 'team' thing that is so important to football players, and of course in the short term at least, his football career.

But, we should thank him for taking the heat off The Eagles for a while anyway! ;)
