ok all good, i sincerly apologise to you.

do you retract your previous vitriol towards junior? how wrong do you think you were on a scale of 1-10 (11 is acceptable)
No.

Because for the majority of his career, albeit with a lot of injuries, he has been ordinary given where he was selected in the draft.

It is good that he is finally performing well, and reasonably consistently.

However, when a player finally delivers it does not erase all their previous poor performances, that isn't how it works.

I do because there is this thing called context, are you familiar with it?

The comments were in a gameday thread for a game where Milera was rather ordinary relative to his near best on ground performance the previous week.

3 weeks actually (inc where he was 2nd best vs blues)

anyway mate will leave it with you and i wont comment further. i just genuinely hope you can find some enjoyment in our team and the journey we are on. there are actually lots of positives already this year and yep certainly some negatives that need addressing. we look exciting for years to come (from a happy clapper perspective) and we are building nicely here. otherwise theres lots of other things in life - nature walks, learning more about victorian or art deco architecture, chasing pretty girls, getting super fit, do a share trading course. even learning the piano etc

fair enough, i understand he has underwhelmed overall but personally always could see the talent. he has lost 3 full years (or close to) due to injuries so been very unlucky. the talent is there and now showing

OK as most Milera bashers have wisely zipped it, can i ask if you still support your recent comments? (PS Milera almost certainly top 2 in our B&F at this stage)
Those comments. Just wow. Jr has never been shit, he ha always been good and the only times he has been slow out of the box is when he has had long time out due to injury.

He's definitely been a whipping boy in recent years. Has played some decent footy and never really got a mention. Even this year he's probably not getting as much love as he deserves.

Players get over a certain age and unless they're dominant, we don't really comment on them much.

At every chance I get, I’m pushing his name forward fir the rolling All Australian team. He would be very close to the 40 player squad.

He is having a sensational season and would be definitely leading the Crows Best and Fairest count.

Hang on, you posted this before I tagged Davos about Edwards and had a crack at me and others who hold other posters opinions to account?

Yours was actually worse, you bumped a heap of his posts!

In a lot of ways he still feels like a new year player due to the amount of football he has missed essentially 3 full seasons due to injury. This is the first year he has really hit the ground running and I'm loving seeing it.

To be fair, Milera didnt select himself. The benefit of all those extra games against his poor form allowed him to build his game up, This is one benefit of Nicks golden ticket system.

Having that consistent run injury free is paying dividends. It would be a source of frustration thats for sure that he has essentially missed almost 50% of the clubs games since he arrived.

I would not say he’s always been good

He’s spent 2/3 of his career being injured or mediocre

probably mediocre as a result of constant injuries. Killed his confidence and an understanding of his game. May have also changed a lot in regards to how he trains and recovery. Could argue Pedlar could be going through what Milera went through and the more games he plays the better he will become.

2017 through to 2019 Milera Started his career very well as a young 20-22 year old. Covid happend and he was injured wiping out 2020 and 2021. Missed a lot of 2022 playing a lot of SANFL. 2023 came back fitter as ever and played every match for 433 disposals for the year. 2024 year wiped out wit injury. And 2025 and now start of 2026 back to 2023 form.

He has been curtailed by injuries. He has had excellent seasons when fit, and then after long periods out he has had to get back to the pace of it.
Players dont lose talent, they lose confidence or ability due to age or injury.
He has shown throughout his Jr and AFL career that he is an elite player when fit.

So when I talk about him, I always remember what he is as a player and accept that injuries have been cruel to him. If he never had injuries he would have been a multiple AA off half back I believe.

Other people have short memories and when commenting about a player they forget what they are capable of and like to shit can them out of the team.

I had no doubt that if he was healthy he would be back to this type of form.

He is one of our most skilled players with disposal efficiency (86.3% for this year, both by foot and by hand), creates run off the half back, very attacking and hard to tackle.

There was a reason other teams wanted him when he was last out of contract even with his injuries.

In previous years you could make this argument, but Milera has been widely lauded by essentially everyone here this year. He's playing fantastic footy and is being recognised as such.

I would rather have Milera on the list with him being out with injuries for a third of the season than some random who we are taking a punt on.
That’s a different argument though

Ill step up and say I was one of the Milera detractors. As others have said because he is playing to the standard he is capable of doesn't give him a free pass for being below par for long stretches prior.

My negative comments in the past were because he should be border line elite and simply looked like he wasn't trying.
