For a guy who won the hardball by putting his head down and attacking, it is impossible for him to have a streak of 17 frees against in a row. However the umpires some how managed to pull it off.

The man from fish creek complimented our team beautifully. It was unfortunate he had to curb his natural style because the umpires had a set of rules for him only.

I didn't realise he had given away that many frees in a row! Umps really hated the guy.

Love the weed.

He worked as a landscape gardener (he still might) at a house I walked past on my way home every day in year 8.

My favourite ever player.

On the balcony of the pub across from the Cathedral before a match earlier this year... he walked north up O'Connell St.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!!!!

Gave us a wave and a thumbs up.

When i was a kid, he worked in a surf store in the Myer Centre. I plucked up the courage to take in my Crows t-shirt and get him to sign it.

"I wanted to come in earlier in the year and get it done... but you got dropped"

He laughed and said, "yeah.. the bastards!"

Love that attitude. Love the man. Does anyone remember the Crows calendar, where all the popular players got photographed doing something they dreamed of? His photo is of him riding a Harley looking totally bad-ass. When the photographer said "Gee, nice bike" he said, "It's Cornsey's, I just borrowed it".

Umpires thought it was perfectly okay for opposition players to conduct drug searches of his curls, while he was trying to play football. However he didn't get as bad as Modra. Umpires would let full backs practice a bit of bondage and discipline (holding his arm behind his back) when Modra was on the lead.

His toughness at the ball was legendary and in truth I think frightened a few opposition players. Just scary.

He is evidence about how astute and brilliant a coach Studley was. He was a nothing player but for his attitude. An attitude that complimented our free flowing style. An attitude few SA players possessed. The man was seriously lucky to end up with the bunch of blokes he did.

I imagine sometimes Studley was at band practice one night sharing a spliff and saw the cult figure potential of him.

Reckon he might, he was in better wood the other day, he had no idea what day it was.

The umps certainly didn't like him! Of Crows players with 50+ game he has the 3rd worst Free for to Free Against ratio (The Jarman brothers come first and second):

Scott Thompson surprisingly low, didn't realise he's gets a fair few as well.

Weid is a legend.

I was around WWTFC a lot as a kid, he was always a great guy to all of us (Jamie Tape and Lawrence Shacke were legends too, and Nick Pesch); and I still remember after we won the 93 Flag, he was pissed and had rolls of 20c pieces, sitting on the pay phone, calling every person he knew to either celebrate or give them shit.

OP is PotY.

The Weed is a successful businessman working in the steel industry - revolution I think.

Great family man also.
