With West Coast holding the golden ticket for this years draft after (another) season from hell, there’s once again heavy interest in the draft. Albeit that interest has been skewed to the No.1 pick - not so much who it will be but moreso which club will eventually hold it

Outside of pick 1 it’s still an intriguing draft with a clear top 8-10, another small group of perhaps half a dozen or so before a group of 25-30 with their own strengths but also significant weaknesses. It’s an even group with a draft order likely to be influenced by club needs over talent

So with that in mind, time to run another mock draft for 2023

For those wanting to have a crack, sign up below.

SELECTORS (Team as allocated)

1. Keys - Gold Coast
2. SumaGodCoach - Essendon
3. Miguel Sanchez - GWS
4. Doashuey - Adelaide
5. ToastieBoy18 - Carlton
6. ArdentEagle - Collingwood
7. Wedgetailed Westerner - Richmond
8. Eastcoasteagle - Sydney
9. Carbine Chaos - West Coast
10. eaglespremiers - Fremantle
11. ThePuma #9 - Geelong
12. UseR2006 - Melbourne
13. CountryLad - Port Adelaide
14. eagles rule - Western Bulldogs
15. Mop - St Kilda
16. Hook461123 - North Melbourne
17. AsterixTheGaul - Brisbane
18. Schtinker - Tasmania
19. dinnaz - Hawthorn
20. briztoon - Fitzroy

Teams will be randomly assigned once we get enough participants to start.

I’ll take Gold Coast simply because that’s purely a bid matching exercise and no thought going into picks

RULES
1. Time is of the essence. If this drags it becomes a lot less interesting. You have a maximum of 12 hours to select after you have been tagged. If you do not meet this deadline or if you’re otherwise delaying for the sake of it, I will select for you.
2. Please do remember to tag the next selector as the process runs much faster if you do.
3. If you are aware of an upcoming inability to take a pick, please PM me a few preferences. I won’t be participating as such so I’m no danger of giving away your strategy
4. This is a draft designed to educate the board on prospects. Please write some details about the player you are selecting.
5. We'll try to get it as accurate to the real thing as possible, so father-son and academy players can be bid on and their team can decide to match. Tag me in a post if you are planning on bidding for a player, and I will sort out the points/PM the relevant selector if they wish to match. As mentioned above, we’ll just run with the assumption Gold Coast will match the bids
6. Teams will be allocated by using the draft points as a ladder then drawing names at random to match 1st through to 18th on the ladder (skipping Gold Coast)

Are we allowing pick trades boss?

Unless someone makes a convincing case to the contrary I’m thinking no as it can delay things and doesn’t serve any real purpose in terms of what the mock should be about

Looks like we’re full

Over full in fact

Sorry briztoon but as a visitor you’re the easiest to cut

Given that the thread is only a few hours old I m reluctant to do a selection based on first in best dressed so someone will randomly miss out

If this one goes quickly enough we could have time to do a second mock but including pick trades as a point of difference

I’ll do a team selection and draft order to post up tonight so this can get started tomorrow
