Ok first and foremost lets get over the line against Melbourne, which will be a big hurdle in itself, and really lets not get ahead of ourselves, but having a look at our fixturing over the next month and a half I think we have a very good chance in each of the next 5 games. Now I know I am going to have an influx of outer supporters and even some Carlton supporters giving it to me saying we just won our 1st game in 300 and something days, but having seen our form and tactical scheme over the last few weeks, if we can only produce that performance over a 4 quarter effort, i really do without a biased opinion think that we can win the next 5 games.

Round 4 - Collingwood - Job Done - Historically the likes of Didak, Thomas, Medhurst, Davis & Rocca have hurt us, but we managed to blanket them for 4 quarters. That was where the game was going to be won and lost and we managed to keep them all quiet and we won the game.

Round 5 - Melbourne (MCG Sun Arvo) - Melbourne are really lacking in confidence ATM. Its senior players seem disgruntled and really showing disinterest. Neitz is probably wishing he had of retired, Green is quietly upset about not being in the leadership group, Bruce is hardly a game breaker & White's form fluctuates far too much. McLean, Jones & McDonald appear to be the only ones who give it a read hot go each and every week. We have them covered in every area, with only their forward line that I'm really concerned about. Miller being rubbed out is another plus for us.

Round 6 - Adelaide (MCG Sat Arvo) - Structurally we match up quiet well with them. In the past we have definitely struggled with massive bodied forwards and smaller crumbing forwards, both of which Adelaide do not posses. Goodwin in an absolute star, and Burton always has a blinder against us, but the loss of both Hudson & Welsh and the lack of form from McGregor has our back line in pretty good stead. I would back our midfield over Adelaide's and our forward line structure ATM with loads of space for Fev has worked extremely well over the last few weeks. Traditionally Adelaide like to flood so we are going to need more midfield goals, which we now have plenty of players to do so. Judd, Stevo, Gibbs, Murphy, Simmo, Hads can all chip in to add more scoreboard pressure. Another major factor in both the Melbourne & Adelaide game is our form at the MCG. Our record there over the last few years is fantastic and Fev seems to relish it every time his feet hit that turf. That god that's were the Granny is at. lol (Not getting ahead of myself)

Round 7 - West Coast (Subiaco Fri Night) - The Judd return match will give them some added motivation but that will diminish after a few minutes of game time. They are obviously not in the best of form, and we are playing away, but recently our form against West Coast hasn't been too bad. No Cousins, obviously Judd, Embley is ill and horribly out of form and both Cox and Glass have major injury worries, we can definitely go into the game quietly confident. Kerr obviously is a danger and can almost carry their entire midfield but their list is shallow currently and we can expose that.

Round 8 - Brisbane (TD Sat Night) The team that I'm least confident about. Solid backline, great midfield (& rucks) and terrific forward line. I go into the game with confidence due to the game being played here, the recent form of Waite on Bigger sized bodies, Jamison is able to play on Bradshaw and we still have O'hAilpin or Thornton to back up either of those match ups if something was to go wrong. Last year we took it up to them minus Stevens and obviously without Judd, but they also didn't have Bradshaw missing so its really up to the supply of both teams to their forwards which will be the determining factor of this result.

Round 9 - Fremantle - (TD Sat Arvo) - 2nd most overrated side in the competition behind St. Kilda, this side looks more like Grandpas Army more than anything. Clearly their bandaid recruiting over the last few years hasn't paid off, and we can expose their slow one paced midfield. Obviously Pavlich, Farmer and Headland are the ones we need to concentrate on most, but once again having seen Waite's form on Riewoldt and Rocca I'd back him against Pav any day of the week. The only danger in this game is their physical presence over the footy. They are a hard at it side but do not consistently provide this pressure week in week out, so I hope our players can stand up to their physicality.

Round 10 - Geelong (TD Sat Night) - And that's where the run ends... enough said.

Obviously as mentioned above we need to get over the line against Melbourne FIRST. But having seen the way we have played over the last 2 weeks I have every reason to be confident.

Go Blues. :thumbsu:

It's not impossible, but i'm going to go the obvious reply and say that we need to take it one week at a time. We've won one game, we can't afford to get ahead of ourselves at this moment. Even when the Cats were certain to finish on the top of the ladder, they weren't getting ahead of themselves, so when we're 1-3, it's obvious that we should play football week by week.

I agree, in fact I made a statement last night on radio here in Ballarat (a motorsport show) that Carlton will win six in a row. My co hosts lost it with laughter.

If we lose a game they are going to give me a dare or something, run up Sturt Street in a pink skirt or something ludicrous.

I'm confident.

Can we lets just concern ourselves with Melbourne this week.
If we show up like Collingwood did on Sunday, then we'll be right behind he 8-ball from the very start. We need to turn up switched on on Sunday, and ready to play.

I'm confident that with Ratts in charge, he'll have the players' heads right for the game.

As everyone is saying we need to focus on the melbourne game which is what the players will be doing. But i see your point as we are playing reasonable football so we will just see. we could be well placed coming to the cats game.

Leave that to the team!

What's the harm in BF supporters getting ahead of ourselves?

I certainly hope that the players are taking it one week at a time, but as a BF member and supporter of the mighty blues then I think it's our duty to make outrageous calls! Although that isn't as outrageous as it might seem...

easy tiger...
beat the demons first...
and they will come out swinging.
but we should knock them off.
I pretty sure I mentioned getting over melbourne twice. Im not getting ahead of myself, and we definitely need to concentrate on Melbourne. I merely put a case for victory over each of our next 5 opponents. I thought that was pretty clear...

While we are at it we could win the next 18 :O lol just joking! Any ways I like how we are being positive about the next few rounds, and I believe we can win at least 3 of them!

Spot on. It's the oldest saying but lets take it a game at a time. We have won one game in 15, now you start a thread we will win 6 in a row? Be reasonable, start this back up when the time comes around.

well its not as premature as the 'richmond premiers 2008' thread that popped up on the tiges board a few days ago but lets use the old cliche and 'take it one week at a time':thumbsu:

I was thinking more 3-3, then 2 losses, the an win and a loss, which would leave us 4-6, which wouldn't be bad :)

Wonderful to see the mood swings of Big Footy at their best. A loss to Richmond and a Pies win over Freo and the Blues are calling for blood and the Pies are talking flags. The blues get over the Pies and you are looking at 6 in a row and playing finals, while the Pies are calling for blood.

FWIW I think you will win 2 or 3 of your next 6.

I think we all need to keep a lid on things , and take it week by week.

I mean if we had of lost on Sunday to the filth, Every single thread regarding the game would of been different so to others threads , such as this one. from the 3rd quarter up until the 20 minute mark of the last quarter , the idea of the team letting the game slip popped up at least 1000 times !!!.

In saying this we need to beat Melbourne first , and play the same consistent type of Footy !!

To all the posters who think that they need to think like players and only want to worry about Melbourne this week and are so scared of getting ahead of themselves, newsflash:

THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR YOU!!!

To all the posters who realise that no matter how ahead of themselves they get and how outlandish their predictions may be, it will not at all influence or affect the playing group's mindset, and hence the result of any Blues games, then by all means, knock yourselves out!!!

It's been a long time between drinks, enjoy the victory, savour the moment, the feeling of confidence and invicibility...how awesome is it!!! :D:thumbsu:

anything is possible
they look confident for the first time in ages
the kids are steppin up the backline looked focussed on a gameplan
pagan never had a gameplan or he stuck to his old carey one
ratts is gonna be good
a few old legends around the club will suit us
not like it hurt the hawks for so many years ie.dunstall brereton etal
puffing their 80s chests around their boardroom
and look whats happened with them
if we win a couple in row who knows
collingwood werent shit on sunday they were f@ckin beaten
by a better team and outcoached
go baggers

your right a chance in all games.........but i'd take being 4wins 5 losses after 9 rounds:thumbsu:
.............and then we can start tanking again......ok only joking lads!

hate to be the devil's advocate here but this time last week, dont know about you blokes but i was still ropable about the essendon loss... sunday was great, but it is a first in a while. the big qeustion is can we do it again. that being said however, i think we are a great side if we can play 4 qrts of solid footy, which is what we did on Sunday. if we fire from both ends (Fevola and Waite, Thornton etc) we can win week after week.
But for the time being, lets just take it week by week and take it as it comes, bcus this time next week, we could be in the shits we were in after Rnd 1,2 and 3
that is all
ignore bad spelling please!:)
