Just thinking..........

There can't be too many Premiers who go back to back or win two of three with the second flag coming after changing over a quarter of the team.

How bloody awesome is that?

In 1974, Richmond won their second flag in a row with 6 players who did not play in the 1973 Premiership.
They also played in the 1972 GF - with 6 players who didn't go on to play in either the 1973, or 1974 flags.

Thanks for that. So its a Tiger thing. :)

I think it happens more often than we realise. Sure everyone remembers the gun players in a team - 'The core of that premiership dynasty was Smith, Jones and Brown etc', but there's 22 players on a team, and a lot of fluidity amongst the bottom 10 or so.

It's why we see the threads 'Coach X has changed 15 players on the list over the last 3 years!' - when most clubs - even premiers - do that.

Just watched prelim again. fu** Clangerfield is absolutely invisible in the second half. Worth a rewatch for that alone.

Then he slid forward and got Grimes who smashed him at every contest. Complete opposite to McGovern who couldn’t get near him one v one.
