AFL Club
Carlton
Both these players look like they could slide to the 2nd half of the first round and both look afl ready.
For those who don't know Watson is 194cm 99kg is a strong kp defender in the Bock mold and Darling is a 190cm 86kg hard at it forward in the Hamill mold

Is there going to be one of these every day till the ND?

Darling is the one I want. Has a good bit of arrogance about him, but it seems a healthy arrogance, unlike someone we just traded. He does seem a bit unconditioned, but with Cordy im sure we could get him to an ideal weight. Seems a good option for a FF position, and all things going to plan would be coming on nicely just as Waitey was finishing.

Clearly you dont watch WA football.

It is an unhealthy arrogance that he has, he is abusive to team-mates and an outright pig. The kid is lazy, and like Tom Hawkins, pushed people around with his body which he wont be doing in the AFL.

Even if he is avaliable at our pick, we will not get him :).

Why remove a cancer in Fevola that was affecting us, to insert a new one now.

Doesnt make sense

Agree with Bluepride on Darling's issues. I doubt we will pick him up because of them. I also question his height, at only 190cm he looks a bit short, but maybe he is the type of player that plays up his height.

With Watson (my fav) i hear a lot of people questioning his closing speed. I reckon this kid has to drop off about 10kgs of fat and replace it with muscle so that he can be athletic and quick enough. Of course he wont do that all this year but if he work hard and does a lot of running over the preseason, i reckon he could shed quite a few kg's and improves his speed and athleticism.

For those questioning Watson's ability to come straight into the team, i disagree slightly. Not many players can come into a team and find their feet really quickly (par Kane Lucas :D), they need to adapt to the game plan and the speed of the game. If we get Watson we should obviously put him at CHB in the Nab cup. If he goes alright then play him against Richmond in round 1 where he will not have too much of a challenge and then go from there.

Fev is 191cm, it doesn't seem to bother him.

I really don't know much about the prospects available in the draft this year, so I can't really say too much either way. I did like the sound of Darling though. Adding a guy like Hamill was for us sounds great. Someone who can hit packs hard and tough, and will fight to keep the ball in the 50. However, if he is as much of a potential cancer as has been suggested here, I'd pass.

Id take either Watson or Cook if they were available at our pick. I think however Watson might be taken by the GC earlier as they will be looking for a KPD for the future.

Watson i think would be ideal for us after we missed out on Hurley 2 years ago. Capable of holding down CHB, and people shouldnt worry over his leg speed, they questioned Hurleys 2 years ago and look how well he's slotted into AFL football.

Wouldnt go Darling, too arrogant and is the 2nd coming of Fevola. Last year i remember he was suspended from his school aswel. Not someone the club should be interested in.

Agree 100%

Disagree with the comments above about him using a bigger body to his advantage.

He was playing WAFL at 16 FFS.

Well, I do have a passing interest in West Perth and am absolutely astounded at these comments!
When has he been abusive to his team-mates, and on what grounds do you class him an "outright pig". For goodness sake, he is just a kid, playing with grown men - why would he be abusive to them?
Any other West Perth watchers able to offer anything here?

Seen a few West Perth games this year and a couple with Jack playing in them, and I have to say bluepride and (you and) I must have been watching different games.

Darling is another potential Fevola off field wise and has already gotten into trouble a few times, including having his skull smashed and broken outside of a Perth nightclub. Has also stopped growing and has been instructed to play a bit in the midfield as opposed to being an out and out key position forward.

Nah, Karnezis is a far better paf special ;) :p

To tell the truth, I really know bugger-all about any of them but it's just a vibe I get whilst doing my armchair research. ;) I know even less about Karnenzis but if the clubs deem that he'll be there-abouts then that'd sway me and I'd be more than happy to get on the bandwagon. He may even be able to wing-it as a KPF. :p

He was suspended for having a chick in his tent on a school camp, not exactly beating up the headmaster is it.

Are you happy we have Mitch Robinson on our list, I bet he wasn't a choir boy growing up. I know for a fact a few clubs stayed away from him because they thought he would be too disruptive.

I am glad we took a chance on Mitch and I hope we take a chance on Darling if he is available.
