There is more going on then meets the eye........he was very happy when Leon was around.
Well ****, we'd better stick Leon back on the ****ing list then.

I daresay Clokey was happier when Wood was on the list too. All aboard.

Heath Shaw and Didak should package themselves together and only agree to a trade where both players go to the same club.

Regardless, at his age and after a knee reco how much more footy could we have expected from him.

Add into that his obvious personal issues which has seen him in and out of the club all year, and you have a player who doesn't have a long term future with the club.

The problem with Krakouer is that he was never quick. He is mercurial and one of the cleanest crumbers I have ever seen...but his lack of pace works against him. He will only get slower...and his work rate isn't good enough for a guy with no pace.

Delisting Krakouer was a very obvious decision to make.

That's been Andy's problem - he's not super quick, not his fault, he just never was blessed with quick foot speed. But it happens.

Below is a rant I have saved since losing to Port, thought now is a good time to post it since everyone has calmed down.

WHY DID WE AGAIN IN 2013 DID WE USE A 2 FORWARD SET UP WHEN NOBODY ELSE DOES?

I'm sick of Buckley trying to be innovative, he actually thinks he is some kind of coaching God sent back in time.
Did you even watch the Port game?
They only played two Forwards - Schultz n Westhoff

And if you get a chance check out Freo in the GF, they will have Pav as the only true key forward.

Your rant is misdirected...the problem was actually playing Keeffe, Reid and Cloke all up forward...we actually missed the Q-stick.

Exactly. All this talk of needing 2, 3 tall forwards plus a resting ruckman is being taken the p*ss out of by Freo. Hell, even Pav isn't a genuine big tall forward (192cm), and has only played the last few seasons there.

Lets see who have we lost so far.
Didak,Jolly,Johnson,Krakouer,Thomas will go and Heath Shaw.Plus we have delisted Richmond and whats his name ex Carlton player who was useless which was no loss.

That is a lot of experience,we lost people. At best we will struggle to make the 8 next year.
Who will get in the trade period, that is what will shape next year.If we only get kids get ready for short term pain maybe another 2 -3 years before we have any impact to top 4,but by then we wont be sure what the competition will be doing .GWS and Gold Coast will be the premier sides then with Norf,Port Adelaide, are young sides who will be up there so where do the pies fit in.
Maybe what my mate said that be content with Collingwood winning a flag every 20 or 30 years is probably right. Now we are rebuilding again.Buckley next year will have a lot of pressure on him but then again we gave Malthouse 12 years at the Pies and we were lucky to win 1 flag,We could have won 2 -2011 Malthouse stuffed that one himself, the goose.

Even if we lose Heath and Dale, I still think we will improve on 2013 and it may set us up for another big tilt at the flag as early as 2015 depending on who we replace them with.

Dale had zero impact on our 2013 season, so him leaving wont see us go backwards
Heath has shown a lack of discipline over the last two seasons, giving away more free kicks than any other pie...his good has been outweighed by his bad...he hasn't been at his best.

Countering those losses....

Hopefully will get

Keeffe to play a full season at CHB, looked very good in his few games back and also gives option of releasing Reid
Fasolo to play more than 3 games across HF, we missed his flair and foot skills
Beams to play more than 8 games...is as important as Swan or Pendles
Ball to play more than 13 games, no surprise we have dropped away in our defensive pressure since Ball struggled with injury
Toovey to play more than 5 games....a big upgrade on Heath from a defensive point of view
Young to contribute more than 2 games....could be a important player for us, especially if we need to replace some of H.Shaw rebounding

Then the general upside from Grundy, Seedsman, M.Williams, Kennedy, Elliott, J.Thomas who all look like good players

Only players who perhaps may give less in 2014 than 2013 would be Swan and/or Maxwell, and many on these boards think Maxwell is rubbish anyway.

We may also 'benefit' from an easier fixture for a change...with the proposed groupings meaning of the top 6 we may only get Carlton twice!!

Good post, however I'd still like to keep Thomas. I know we didn't get much out of him the two last years. A fit Thomas makes us a better team.
