Fixture Week 1 finals fixture

That is the logical fixture. Adel and Freo will sell out, GWS and Cats will go close.

Absolutely no reason why the AFL can’t announce this now. Travelling fans can start making arrangements. And they could put the QFs tickets on sale immediately.
So 8 day break for loser of 1 v 4 and 6 day break for winner of 5 v 8? Can’t see them doing that, they rarely do.

The six day break is preceded by a 13 day break. Not a problem. Or that game could be Saturday.

In many years, the PF has a team coming off a six day break v the QF winner coming off a 13/14/15 day break (2023).

Yes this is what it should be. Although I don’t understand the point of Thursday night finals at all, should have Sunday and that gives Suns more of the bye week everyone else gets.

We finished top in 2022 and got to choose when we wanted to play. We chose the Saturday as Thursday is a horrendous slot especially for Geelong people.

Traffic is ridiculous but how are Thursdays good? Travelling fans need extra day off work, kids have School the next day even adults need to get to bed for work.

Sundays you can have everyone over for a bbq as most of us are free to do things.
Thursday night final….. shhh no cheering. The kids are asleep.

The worst timeslot in the history of timeslots.
Thurs instead of Sunday allows a fixture to be created which ensures that no team has less than a 7 day break.
Which has worked for the most part since coming in, but the winner of the GWS elim will be ****ed over this year.

The AFL Should just come out and say it's the same every year

QF1 - 1st vs 4th - Saturday Afternoon
QF2 - 2nd vs 3rd - Thursday Night
EF1 - 5th vs 8th - Saturday Night
EF2 - 6th vs 7th - Friday Night

SF1 - Loser of QF1 vs Winner of EF1 - Saturday Night
SF2 - Loser of QF2 vs Winner of EF2 - Friday Night

PF1 - Winner of QF1 vs Winner of SF2 - Friday Night
PF2 - Winner of QF2 vs Winner of SF1 - Saturday Twilight

GF - Winner of PF1 vs Winner of PF2 - Saturday Afternoon

This means that under every situation, every team gets a 7+ day break, and the highest ranked team in theory has the longest break (If 4th beats 1st, it does backfire a little, but to fix that, you screw someone else over even more so)

Yeah it shouldn’t matter too much but I’m pretty sure they haven’t done this 8 day vs 6 day break for a long time heading into a semi.

I also thought they didn’t like Sunday finals so the semi finalist isn’t playing off 6?

So I was right? That was part of the reason for no Sunday footy, however they’ve backtracked again?

AFL website confirmed the two QF's are on Thursday and Friday night

Crows vs Pies Thurs
Cats vs Lions Friday
Battle of the birds, followed by battle of the cats. A mouthwatering prospect to kick off this year's finals.
