Its seems many people are wanting advise about their team at the moment. Considering it is the break maybe some re-views and advise is in order and a thread dedicated towards this is in hand.

Questions like, Is my team in a good or bad situation? Who do i need to upgraded? who do i need to downgraded?

I am around 3,000th and around 900 points off the leader, so not very good at the moment. My team hasn't had much luck and is fairly riddle with injuries but hopefully not for to much longer. I have 15 trades and 220k in the bank and my team is like this at the moment, i think it has a fair bit of potential:

Backs: C.Cornes, Shaw, Milburn, Goddard, Birchall, Bradshaw, Symes (Brown, Hartlett)

Centres: Priddis, Cross, Stevens, Gibbs, Jack, Palmer (Bird, Geary)

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Hampson, Tippett)

Forward: Pavlich, B.Johnson, J.Brown, S.Johnson, Porplyzia, Rioli, Gamble (J.Smith, Stewart)

Players in bold are the ones that IMO definately need to be upgraded. How is everyone else traveling with regards to how happy they are with their positioning, trades and team so far?

Backs: Chornes, Shaw, Symes (trading to Burgoyne this week), Goddard, Gilbee, Waters, Kennelly (Selwood, J. Edwards)

Midfielders: Cross, Judd, Salopek, Stevens, Griffen (trading to Luke Power or Adam Cooney this week), Ibbotson (Armitage, Wona-something)

Rucks: Big Cox, Simmonds (West, Jesse White)

Forwards: Johnson, Brown, Akermanis, Burton, Porplyzia, Tredrea, Rioli (Gamble, Tippett)

I'm majorly pissed off about Tredrea's injury because he could've been Chapman this week with a few more points. One issue with my team is after this week if I trade Symes to Burgoyne and Griffen and his huge B/E to Power/Cooney, I will only have 12 trades left, with quite a few trades I want to do still to come. I'm happy with my backs so far to last me the year barring injury, but I still want to do Salopek to either Kornes, Corey or Swan, Stevens to one of them if they drop significantly or if not someone else who I believe will average 100 such as Scott Thompson, and I'm planning to bring in Lance Franklin if he's cheap enough in Round 19 because a) League finals are coming up and I want to beat my mates and b) Hawks have a pretty easy run home. This means I will have twelve trades left with eight trades I want to get done, a lot of which may need the help of a cash cow. So if I get too many more injuries, I could be in trouble.

Backs: C.Cornes, Shaw, Milburn, Goddard, Symes, Waters, Ibbotson (proud, edwards)

Centres: Swan, Cross, Stevens, Judd, Houli, Mclean (Palmer, Valenti)

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Kreuzer, Bellchambers)

Forward: Pavlich, Deledio, J.Brown, Cloke, Vince , Rioli, Franklin (Gamble, Morton)

ranked 4317.

the bolds i definitely want to upgrade.

got 11 trades left with 66,500k.

with palmer im thinking of trading him for a cheapo once he peaks and then upgrading houli. houli looks like he'll go up a fair more yet, with the injuries the bombers have.

anyway, what do people think? any suggestions??

Defenders: Shaw, Johncock, Gilbee, Ellis, Gram, Barlow, Ibbotson (Armfield, Hansen)

Midfielders: K. Cornes, Ablett, Stevens, Deledio, Griffen, Houli (Palmer, Morton)

Rucks: Cox, Griffin (Leuenburger, Bailey)

Forwards: Franklin, Murphy, Riewoldt, Fevola, Brown, Rioli, Tippet (Thompson, McKinley)

Not sure who I should be upgrading. I've got 17 trades left.

What about upgrading Vince to Brad Johnson this week? Should cost you about 40k. Brad is back and firing again, he is an absolute bargain. Also Vince has definately peaked, i would think it would be a perfect trade.

Don't touch your team for a few weeks, then trade down Palmer, Gamble and Proud, when they have peak (or close to) to rookies. With that money, upgrade Ibbotson, Rioli and Houli.

Deez Baby,
i'm due to play you in a few weeks, so I'd appreciate constant feedback as to the progress of your trades.
I would strongly suggest using those trades you mentioned in the next 2 weeks, followed by at least 2 each week until about round 15.
Especially the Neagle trade.

DT, I agree with Cruiser on the Johnno trade but would also look at trading Houli down to Browne to free up some cash. Palmer can comfortably hold the 6 spot in the mids and is wasted on the bench IMO. With that cash I would go Rioli to Chappy next week and you then only have Ibbo and Palmer to upgrade when the time is right. Gets you a solid forward line for the rest of the year.

Backs - need the love. Way I see it, you will need to get Ellis, Wight, Thornton out, and Symes and Gram out if you have the trades. I reckon Ellis and Thornton out ASAP while there is still some value in the backs (P.Burgoyne, Goddard, Milburn). One of these should be a priority trade, P.Burgoyne if you can afford him, Milburn if you can't.

Mids - Osborne, Dal Santo and McVeigh make me nervous. Osborne cos I can't honestly see him sustaining it, Dal cos he's a better SC than DT player and McVeigh cos I don't think he'll come back the same. Plenty of good value in mids too. Goodes, Scotland and Bruce come to mind, Corey at possible low point this week, Bartel possibly at his next week. And a likely cow coming through in Browne. Maybe McVeigh to Browne (this week) and Osborne/Dal to Goodes/Scotland (next week).

Rucks - Leave.

Forwards - find your missing forward for starters! I'm not sold on starting both Franklin and Roughead, nor on Rob Murphy's ability to stay out there until Rd 22 uninjured and in this form, but keep him while he's hot! I reckon Roughead for B.Johnson, maybe Rioli for J.Brown when he's back in. Maybe should get more games, Veszpremi bound to crack a game after mid point in season.

What your team is in need of is a desperate trading halt. With 10 trades left you will probably struggle to field 22 blokes for the rest of the season so that should be a priority. When you need to trade, that is when you should be looking to upgrade. The ones in red need to be upgraded (or downgraded to generate cash), so you probably can't aim for many of the best players in any position (that you don't already have) so you will have to settle for the best you can afford. You will probably have to keep Ellis, Osborne Palmer and Rioli just to make up the numbers and if you can hold Thornton that will help you out.

From here on in MAKE SURE THAT EVERY TRADE YOU MAKE WILL BE TO SOMEONE WHO WILL PLAY THE SEASON OUT.

If you can make it to round 16 with 8 trades left (unlikely) you can start to look at improving your side by using 1 trade per week and even then you will be cutting it very fine.

From here you can't make your side good, you can only make it better.

currently have $254,900 left in the bank from some previous trades
dyson and vince are ready to be traded this week
bird and tredrea will be next week
houli and rioli will be the week after
then jack, mattner, taylor, palmer and gamble will be ready sooner or later (depends on what is on offer at the time and how they perform from now on)

if all goes to plan (or thereabouts) i should have a reasonable team in 3 weeks and will just have to do some fine tuning from then on
oh yeah i have 14 trades at this point in time

I'm in a bit of a pickle with trades. Have 12 left with 13k in the bank.

Apart from the four rookies on the field, I'm not really concerned with upgrading anyone else in the near future.

I'm itching to get rid of some of the money on the bench, but there's pretty much no one to downgrade too.

First priority is to get Brad Johnson at the expense of either Hill or Rioli. A Bird -> rookie, Masten -> gun is also on the cards.

I think you can leave your team for a while. Yes B.Johnson is rising fast but a downgrade of any of your bench players would be fairly worthless because as you said, there are no good options at the moment.

If you feel compelled to trade B.Johnson in, i think the most valuable trades would be Bird ---> Cotchin and then Rioli ---> B.Johnson. Not really ideal but if you want Brad Johnson at his lowest price, this seems to be the best way to go.

You've got a good team.

If you feel like going all-out and trading in BJ then I'd downgrade Hill to Jacky, Daniher, or even Playfair or N.Brown from Collingwood (only 121/123k). You could even downgrade to a 72k rookie because Tippett looks like he'll be a great reserve to keep for the season.
Then upgrade Rioli or Gamble to BJ.

Most people would say Rioli, but I say consider upgrading Gamble. Rioli is basically 22-material, averaging 71 so far and looking like he'll play every game. Whereas Gamble is only averaging 65 (boosted by 1 high game) and I'm not sure he'll play as many games as Rioli, therefore he's not as good as Rioli as starting 22 material.

Now I know Gamble will continue to rise in price for another month at least, but his expected rise is $15k while if BJ scores (only) 80 he will rise $12k. So there's not much in it. If BJ scores 100 he will rise $18k, and you'll be wishing you upgraded.
Plus, you get at least 20 extra points this week if you start BJ over Gamble.

Its worth considering, imo.

Here is my team ,

Backs - Shaw, Burgoyne, Symes, Birchall, Waters, Gilbee, Ellis
- Selwood, Thompson

Mids - Cross, Goodes, Murphy, Stevens, Dyson, Mcnamara

Rucks - Mcintosh, Simmonds

Fowards - Pavlich, Brown, Reiwoldt, S.Johnson, Porplyzia, Deledio, Pettifer

Need Some suggestions, I have 15 trades left and $60,000 in the bank and sitting in around 3,000th place. I am think of making two trades this week, Ellis to Milburn and Pettifer to B.Johnson, No one knows when Pettifer weill make his way back into the side nor if he will hold his spot once he gets back in, It's a sidways trade yes, but i dont want to be playing a rookie each week to cover what could be a premium. With these trades i will almost have my Backs and Fowards set in stone with the exeption of injuries, Will probly Upgrade Porps and Symes to the likes of Chapman and cornes later down the track but it isnt a priority. Will probley downgrade Rioli in the next few weeks and then upgrade Mcnamara or Dyson to a premium. Any other suggestions or help ? Thanks..

They're two good trades imo...Dyson has peaked and doesn't look to be travelling well, is a really inconsistent scorer and Browne looks like a small, classy defender which Carlton have lacked a bit and knows how to get plenty of the pill and will be rising in money a fair bit...Thompson is a FF, up and down like yo-yo, and Brad Johnson looks to be hitting his good form again, should be cherry ripe after the break and you probably won't see him much cheaper throughout the year from here on in...

Pretty good team, think you are spot on with you prediction but i'm not sure why McLean would be traded out, he can rack up big scores and is in some good form at the moment. Palmer should be the midfielder you trade out for Corey. Also i'm not sure whether you are thinking to trade this week but Bird to Browne, then Ellis to Milburn seems like two you should consider.

yeah i was thinking its my last opportunity to get J.Corey and the trade of Bird > Browne and then Mclean to corey would be a good move plus i feel mclean will get tags from here on in.

cant afford palmer to J.Corey this week but yeah Ellis to milburn is a consideration

Corey's B/E is 100, so he shouldn't go up to much if you miss out on him this week. Plus Bartel has a chance to get down to 430-440k in the next few weeks, i'd think McLean and Milburn is a better pair than Corey and Ellis for the moment.

There will always be other chances to get Corey/Bartel, i think just be patient at the moment. You can always get Swan, he pretty much just as good and is only 391k. Ellis (B/E of 96) is much more of a priorty than McLean or Palmer at the moment.
