if all the rumours and innuendo are proven correct, by 2.00pm today, trent croad will once again be a hawk..

sure, we were (well most of us anyway) were surprised at the club when they traded him on - but considering who we got for him - hodge, mitchell, elstone (2 of which have already proven themselves..), with the benefit of hindsight, it makes sense.

as for now taking him back, i'm calling it the kerry packer trade.

kerry packer sold Channel 9 during the 1980's for a fortune to alan bond.

a few years later, with the network struggling, packer bought it back of bond for a bargain, the beauty of the deal obvious to all..

the parallel is obvious.. isn't it?

So ... what you are saying is Croad went to Fremantle and deliberately played like a moron in the hope he would be traded back to Hawthorn for a song? Don't think so.
If Croad returns, I am hoping someone has read the riot act to him and reminded him that football got him where he is, and he should spend a little bit more time trying to be a footballer.
There's plenty of time to try and own Australia AFTER he finishes his footy.

Well aren't we just the luckiest clib in the AFL? Getting Croad back is like finallty getting rid of that pile of garbage in the back yard and finding it is now in the front yard instead.

God help us. On other hands not even god would help us after we picked up bloody Croad. Oh well I will support him as he is now once again a Hawthorn player but gee why Croad.

Well Carlton traded Justin Murphy to Geelong at the end of 2000 for pick 13 and got him back again injury free and in form one year later for pick 21 so we did better out of that ... since then he has been a dud and we just traded him again. Hope you guys have more luck with Trent the second time around.

From all reports Trent is made it clear he wants to re-ignite his footy career again and become the elite player he was always promising to be! With a positive attitude like that and accepting a sufficient pay cut , it shows that he's not just along for the ride , but is making a statement about how serious he intends to take his football.

He always tried his hardest at training and during games but you could tell by his body language that his heart was never with Freo.

I wish him well and hope he silences his many critics at the club he supported as a kid.
