This will lower the average IQ of North's membership, but I guess it's good PR. :D

I trust the membership dept will keep an eye out for his cheque, and apply the blowtorch if he doesn't follow through.

And I believe a couple of Royal Blue Pledges are still unsold. :p

I suppose it's a validation of the strategy, but yeah... for every intended consequence I guess there is an unintended one.

But seriously, some bridge building with enemies can't be a bad thing.

The Fat one stated that he had lunch with JB a few weeks ago, so maybe the bridge building is ongoing.

JB: Pat, mate, great to have ya onboard.

Smif: Pleasure's all mine Jim.

He at least had the guts to turn up to Dallas Brooks Hall and report first hand amidst all the love for North and hate for his stance rather than rely on "thources".

Hey, no one ever accused him of lacking guts!

He seemed very genuine in support for our new direction, so great to see another member on board.

Some of the attacks over time have been a bit over the top, but to the outsiders our direction wasnt clear either. People probably expected to see results faster than could realistically be expected after the turmoil of the GC/ new board thing.

But here we are with upgraded facilities, away games to Hobart with solid support shown, Ballarat on the burner which would be the envy of all bar the biggest Vic based clubs, close to making the eight with a young exciting list, positive coach, membership at all time high (for this time of year) and a real engagement shown with the community now with WVA endorsement.

Theres plenty of work to do, but we're on the right track. Good on PS and KB for getting on board.

Mark Allen and the big Ox from SEN mentioned they were also members. Not bad in my eyes. Allen being a passionate magpie supporter and Swartz being a one eyed demon man.

The Ox has always had a soft spot for us.

True! I remember he always used to rate us even when nobody else gave a chance, and always seemed to know the players on our list.

Probably a base level expectation of a member of the media to know the teams' lists, but you know.. Nice that he actually does his job.

Yep. That came from his days when SEN would cover the VFL, with many of our games covered by them at the time. He took his role seriously and did his research, watching players develop or fall away over time. It appears that start has been a good grounding for his commentary on matters AFL team related. I don't mind TheoX at all.

Who does he support now? All 16 teams?

A membership is still a membership, however; and I'm sure no one is complaining :)

There's one team he hates - it's his old team, the Bombers. He dumped them because they lied to his face (and Greg Denham's) over the sacking of Knighter and the recruiting of the dream team in 2010.

Then he joined the Tigers.

He seems to be at his most cheerful when other people are suffering. [which might explain why he chose Richmond]
