Their run of interviews has been awesome and indicative of perseverance. Gibbons speaks like a seasoned player ( he is ) .

Suggesting the club pushed Bugg out the door because they decided that Gibbons was a better choice is laughable. Nothing lines up.

You and I have different definitions of what constitutes being pushed. The club is clearly not taking crap from any player any more- look at the fasolo ISIS apology for example. Standards are being set, and if you dont want to meet them, then the club will challenge you hard. Pointing out what is expected and where you are failing to meet those expectations can either motivate a player or make him realize that his place is in jeopardy- especially as a senior player who is expected to lead the younger players. There is no point a player hanging around on a list on rookie wages, for a year , if he is not getting a game. The club knows this and I am sure Bugg knows this. Knowing that Gibbons was killing it on the training track and was going to be played before he was could well have pushed him to resign. Clearly the club cannot sack the player, but they can surely influence him - especially when there is no real monetary incentive to hang around

Yep, Gibbo said in the interview with Gues Sen that he'll be #40.
Cotters not sure, but he's sure to get #49, the number he wore at the Dragons

There's been some pretty handy players in #32 in the past...Bryan Quirk, Twirler Glascott, Alex Duncan (my current avatar)...even Adrian Whitehead, premiership player, but could have been a ripper if injuries didn't cruel him out of the game.
Some pretty big shoes for the young fella to fill.

As unbelievable as it sounds, the boys of course loved it having the attention, but none of them played up...none...but there were some beers drunk during the course of the night!!!

Getting back on track though, I hope Gibbo gets a lower number when he's elevated to the senior list in 2020, after winning the Rising Star, B&F, and Brownlow

Yep. It's these picks that can really improve a side. Gibbons Cottrell Goddard Finbar Schumacher Garlett Kerr Williamson etc. A few step up we really are better

Very good VFL player that has done really well. Gibbons at VFL level has probably been better. Both are very good runners. Signs are positive
