This kid is ****ing insane

Murphy Reid is all the good stuff of Sidebottom, Pendles, Toby Green and even a smidge Jeffrey Farmer with his taps to space and awareness around him.

It’s so good ‘knowing’ you have one as opposed to hoping one develops.

We just hope he develops into a superstar. If he remains as is for 10 years he’s still a gun.

Not just fortunate slider, but in an area we desperately needed.

Many here may be too young to remember Benny Vigona, played for South Fremantle. Small forward. Kicked 7 before hallf time against Claremont. Took himself off at half time.
Murphs disappearing tricks on the weekend reminded me of Benny the Jet.
Hardly take a step, shake the hips, find the gap and gone. Just like Benny.
Benny was the best stepper I have seen, even better than Maurice.

This just an awesome watch

I have watched the highlight at 17 seconds about 5 times and it still makes no sense. Reid handballs with his left hand over his right shoulder, on the boundary line, in a way that gives Darcy space. Slow it down and you see that, at the moment of making the handball, Darcy is not in his line of vision. Alll this is done in a split second.

I reckon only about 5 percent of players in the AFL would go for that handball, and not many would make it. The kid's a freak.

Destined for the midfield and I can't wait to see what kind of damage Murph can do when getting it 20+ almost every week when he inevitably moves in there. Has already shown he can swing forward too.

Going back and looking at all the gloating West Coast fans when they 'stole' Bo from us is hilarious in hindsight.

The thing I love most about Murph is that nothing fazes him.

He can have three opposition players around him and will take them on and still manage to get the ball to one of our players.

This kid has nerves of steel.

You can only imagine him in a GF - no deer in the headlights with him.

Murphy would turn in a blinder.

Last bloke I saw do it with full intention was Harley Bennell. From much higher up and genuinely like a b-ball bounce.

Recently Sam Darcy did it but I reckon he was just whacking it to stop it from bouncing away and it fell into his lap like a generational talent through the spermatozoa-fuelled lottery of archaic selection rules allied to concepts like "romance" and "tradition."

imma revisit something I said elsewhere earlier in the year. He's not athletically gifted. Odd body shape and honestly while his top speed is fine, his acceleration probably isnt that much better than Erasmus.

I said this would limit his ceiling, I was wrong. I can not think of a player I've ever watched that can do what he does with a football while seeing the game the way he does. He handles it like it's a tennis ball and disposes it like he has telepathic powers to put it wherever he wants. He doesnt need to be athletically better than others because he has the most ridiculous handling of football and spatial awareness I've ever seen bar probably Naicos.

He needs more glazing outside over West.

I noticed in his recent media that he referenced that he isn’t quick. I am sure that is correct but I have not noticed it on the field, when he competes one on one he always seems to hold his own and has made some great runs down the wing, I certainly never get the Sonny or Raz lack of pace feelings.

I think his top speed is fine just not acceleration which probably works when you have the ability to know where the ball ia going 3 seconds before anyone else
