Confident on the field shy off.No way he deliberately tanked the interview. Seems very shy and reserved.

Worked out just fine for Buddy.Confident on the field shy off.
Mass?Well spoken young man. Good to hear that mass has taken him under his wing.
He couldn't take that smile off his face and that's what we love to see.
Good luck young man!

What was his 20m sprint time?Managing Director of DAZN Belgium.
Not sure. He just whinged he shouldn't have to sprint that far. What was his 20m sprint time?
MassimoMass?
Note: actual 2km time was reported as 6:47. NHH was ~ 10s BehindI missed his time for the 2km time trial:
- the 16th best EVER time for a 2km time trial at the draft combine is 6.00
- The equal-7th best time in 2025 was Aiden Schubert's 6.21.
How are people so bearish on this guy "because of his athleticism" when he's pulling numbers superior to Sharp's, who is also a couple of inches shorter and lighter, especially when OG has only been focusing on footy full time for one season???
OK, he's got work to do, but falling to rookie doesn't make any sense to me at all.

2km: 6.40 -
20m: 3.10s
Agility: 8.24s
Sharp
20m: 3.12s
Agility: 8.75s
Reminded me exactly of him, very reserved and honestWorked out just fine for Buddy.
Was a Cats supporter growing up. Think we should consider cutting already.Speaks well and appears grateful for the opportunity.
Sounded nervous as hell in it didn't heJokes aside Ollie seems like a massive teddy bear from that interview. Really happy to have him. Has got loads of talent, needs to work on things like all draftees. Keep going OG!

My worry is the slog that is VFL. I'd love to see him in the wide expanses of the G with a good team up and running. He will dominate VFL footy pretty quickly IMO.
It’s a real head scratcher as to how he fell to the rookie draft.People asking where I got these numbers - they were posted in this thread.
IIRC it was Tyler Durden in separate posts.
OG does not have an issue with agility, 20m sprint or 2km time trial.
Those numbers are solid.
2km a bit on the slow side for a mid, but for a guy his size and his lack of full-time commitment to the sport prior to 2025, it's actually quite decent.

I have no knowledge whatsoever. Given some of the smoke on this board I wonder whether he has recently undergone a significant attitude adjustment. It’s a real head scratcher as to how he fell to the rookie draft.
He needs some work on his running but those numbers aren’t terrible. In fact if you looked at him as a key forward / mid hybrid rather than as a pure midfielder they are actually not bad.
And in the interview he came across as a pretty decent kid. He just seems super stoked to be at the Hawks.
My guess is missing the draft combine really set him back in most clubs eyes a long way. A lesson there for future young players.
It’s really not. It’s literally been explained multiple times in here why he fell to the rookie draft. It’s a real head scratcher as to how he fell to the rookie draft.

And that’s been observed at training when he’s lagging at the back of the running groups.
The idea and seemingly growing sentiment in this thread that he has some untapped running potential and massive upside because he played some basketball prior to his draft year, completely overlooks that 18 club’s scouting departments aren't run or staffed by idiots.
If they thought his running was going to be so easily addressed, based on his Vic metro and Coates league form he’d have gone in the first round.
He has an opportunity to prove people wrong, prove that he can build a tank, and can improve in an area that is pivotal in today’s football, but please stop pretending like we have no idea why he fell to a rookie pick.

What a ****ing stupid comment.Aligning yourself with industry consensus to appear knowledgeable is lame.

"Forget about the data, just believe me when I say the other club aren't run by idiots."
-- Meanwhile, half the clubs require AFL assistance and many can't get themselves off the bottom 3 for years without priority picks saturating their list, and then just drift into mediocrity until the next round handouts.
-- Meanwhile Essendon keeps a 31 year old instead of stocking up their list with 4x1st round picks in a trade wildly in their favour.
The idiots are everywhere!
