IMHO we should trade our 2025 pick 1 for pick 1 in the 2026 MSD at this rate. We seem to do better with that pick anyway

Likely to win, but I think McCarthy has played the most 'good footy' out of any of our players this year.

As an aside, I wouldn't be opposed to Ginbey winning ahead of Baker.

Depends on what your overall list needs are and how the total squad looks.

18yr olds don't do a lot for us when it comes to building a competitive environment for them to develop in, The Beagles.

If that environment is solid and already exists (so not us) then you can get away with adding more youth with established experience next to them to help them thrive.

The fact we had Petrucelle plus 2 amateur topups playing on ball for our WAFL team shows how out of whack things are currently.

Basically fu*ked around with Dawson and Rankine, that's pure confidence and guts.

Midfield TMac could be what Yoe became after the switch from defence.

Need to look at more players like him in the draft, mature and readymade.

Statistically there must be - its an itteresting issue. Not all want to play in the AFL or pursue footy for that matter.

To be fair, most of those guys were played out of position in just about every game they played for us.

Arguements been done to death, but when they were given chances in their preferred position you could see the gulf in class. Same reason no one else picked them up after us to also give them a chance in that position.

Not every good state league player is cut out for that transition to a higher stage, McCarthy is shaping up as one of the exceptions to that.

Midfield or HB is the question.

I think id like 2 of him but given cloning isnt available yet I think it would be best to put him into the midfield and aim for a HB via trade.

One of Starcevich/McVee can take a spot up in defense in his place even if they are non distributors. I think when it comes to defensive distribution we back in Ryan Maric and give Ginbey some more freedom to run of his opponent
