Hey guys,

I'm just here to congratulate your team on a very good performance. Geelong's performance today showed that they're capable of being a top 8 side, a finals side. McCarthy, Mooney, Stokes, Ablett, King, Ling, they were all brilliant today. Aside from a shaky start you guys controlled the majority of the game. As I said, great work.

As for my team.........:o

well they played ok against a bottom side. Any win is a good one. McCarthy played well and it has to be a relief for him to get into the side finally and do well. Good on him.

agree 100%, if they play like that against the Dogs in a few weeks they will lose, stll a few bad signs that need to be fixed if we r going to beat sides in the 8.

Yep...some silly mistakes in defence, a good side would have beaten us by 20+ points today, although it is good to see them flog a side, i am glad they didn't let the game trickle out in the last, they took control and put it way beyond doubt.

Good to see McCarthy and Prismall do well, good signs indeed!
Off to see the VFL side play Box hill tomorrow.

Come on everybody, lets be a bit more enthusiastic about this win!

The cats played better then ok, and what was really amazing was that there were 14 different goal scorers....!

But the highlight of the match...McCarthy. For his first game back he did a dam good job. So well done to him especially and the Cats.

Thanks mate. I'm currently copping an absolute shellacking in the votes forum, so all 'agrees' are welcome.

that's the problem when you beat a dud side well, it makes you look better than you are. We must all remember that we have not beaten (and in a couple of cases we were flogged) a top 6 side this season. That is the reallity of where we are at. We have about as much credibility as Freo at present

Unfortunately this is the problem. Most of our wins this season have been floggings, so we're obviously able to put teams away, but then we've been handed a couple also that discredit us. I'll have to watch the game to see how we played, but a win's and a win and I HOPE it can act as a springboard for a late run at the finals.

Great win today Catters!!! Well done! :thumbsu:

I know it was "only" Carlton. But I thought there were quite a few positives from it..

Our goal kicking was amazing first of all. Usually WE are the side out there struggling for accuracy, so it was a nice change! (to think also, we had a poster, Otto missed a dead easy shot, and there was a rushed one.. very impressive)

Otto, Kingy, and Moons are getting together games where they are ALL out there playing at the same time! Finally!!!

Mcarthy was fantastic. Great effort and hopefully he can keep his spot in the side, esp of he could keep this sort of form up.. (god knows we need it.. ;) )

And Stokesy, just his enthusiasm and attack on the ball. Great effort for a little guy! Lets hear it for all the little guys, battling away! :D

Finally Gazza! Was looking shaky that he would even get to the ground (many thanks to the kind (AND LUCKY) person that picked him up :) ), but did and 3 goals in whatever minutes.. :thumbsu:

Deespite the opposition, it was an encouraging game.

Next week is a massive contest.....massive.

If Port can kick 2.15 after quarter time again, I think we'll be a-okay :thumbsu:

The week after.. payback time for the Doggies will be a massive one.

Well, you've got Essendon next week so you have an excellent chance to get back on the winners list.

similarities bwtn this game and v hawks. geelong had its chances in that one, just like the blues - but alas it resulted in NO scoreboard pressure due to bad kicking. I honestly thought that that bad kicking setup the ensuing loss for us.

Splitting the difference -exceptional kicking with carltons poor kicking and the win aint too 'flash'.
