Once again the the FFC put on a good family show tonight. Kids had a ball.

Just a few points. Fyfe is pretty tall I guessing low 190's; hilly has bulked up; Chatted to Pitt. He is 7 kgs heavier.

Once again many thanks to the FFC

Roving Mike from the Christmas part is up on DTV. What a legend, he's a funny guy.

Barlow said he would nominate for the club's leadership group for 2012, which will be voted on by the players and game-day staff early in the new year.

Barlow also light-heartedly added the first meeting between he and new coach Ross Lyon had an interesting history to it.

"I trained with St Kilda a few years ago and they didn't pick me up, so I don't know if Ross rates me," Barlow said.

"Ross has been fantastic, he's a very good communicator and the players know exactly where they stand.

"I had a good chat to him - I went in there three or four weeks ago to have a quick chat to him and I couldn't get out of there for about 45 minutes."

He deserves to be in the leadership group. I can't believe that he broke his leg 17 months ago and still hasn't started full training this Pre-Season.

I agree, my kids loved it - kick to kick with Hill, Ballantyne organising the tug of war and Zac Clarke give my eldest some a buzz by remembering him by name.

Was actually thinking the same thing with Fyfe also when he was standing with Pav, height wise there would only be a cm in it if that. I think Fyfe really can play wherever he wants....

Thanks Freo.

Junior had a ball, as always.

He had a nice chat with Tom Sheridan during the autograph signing time & from his recount of the conversation, Tom sounds a ripper young fella.

What struck me about the playing group was the number of unfamiliar faces. There has been a huge turnover of players & I used to pick all of the players by face comfortably, but there were a few I did not recognise.

The number of kids seemed down by a lot from previous years, and from a selfish point of view, it meant the children present received more attention, but from a club point of view, greater numbers would have been appreciated I suppose.

As for the new boys, Lachie Neale at least looks like he has a body which might allow him to play soon.

The only negative for mine was a player who will want to make the most of what might be a final chance arriving about 1/2 an hour after it had started. I understand problems such as traffic jams can arise, but the player in question will hopefully do everything he can to get the absolute most out of his very talented self this year & for many years to come. Maybe I am totally wrong here & the guy had permission to be late as he had another commitment, but itwas disappointing due to his history.

Once again, thanks Freo on behalf of me and my son.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

yep.
Walters.
hopefully he has had his wake up call as I think he could be fantastic.
I hope I haven't gotten the guy into trouble. I am sure people at the club noticed it.
Anyway, he was great with the kids once he was there if that is any consolation.

I think it'd be worse if people at the club didn't notice. He needs a kick up the arse.

i know for a fact, two years ago the club were hammering him about commitment and discipline. if he hasnt got the idea yet, i fear his career will end abrubtly. which will be a shame as he has sublime skills

I did not go down till late as my boy is only 4 and while he could have joined in, I reckon one more year will be better plus it was a hot, hot day.

It is only a gold coin donation, so it may come across as petty but there were a few things about the day that need attention.

1- As my boy approached Santa, Santa did the high five, up high, down low too slow thingie. All well and good, I do that with my son myself. But Santa saying too slow, just like the rest of the Dockers then breaking into Good Old Collingwood forever was a bit off. FFS Santa, if the club is paying you to be Santa for the day, just be Santa. How hard could it be to leave allegiances out of it?

2 - The present handed out to the kids by Santa was a magic salad plate from 4 and 20. The plates that have fake salad on so that you can have a pie and pretend you are eating a healthy meal. What message does that send to the kids. It went over my sons head, but it was poor form Freo !

3 - The Carols were terrific and a bit of fun followed by the fireworks. I am not sure what any of the songs were that were played during the fireworks, but given that the members have just voted on a new song(or at least an upgraded version), surely the club could have played it at some point !

He does, but if he doesn't have the application despite multiple warnings - the club should just cut him for someone who does have the will and work ethic. He's just space filler otherwise.

Both my kids had a great time. All the players were great but Alex Silvagni, Nick Suban and Chris Mayne were standouts in the way they got into it with the kids. No big heads there.

My daughter has hair that makes Chris Mayne look like he has a perm so made sure she met Chris. He was great so she definitely wants his number on her jumper now.
