The behaviour of certain Devils players was a disgrace and a low point in Tasmanian football. Feral football should not be tolerated and sundays performance was a slap in the face to Tasmania and Tasmanian football.

The whole Devils & AFL Tasmania program is a slap in the face to most fans who loyally followed club football in this state, and kept football on the map here for the last 120+ years, as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed, Kingpin, but what actually transpired on Sunday?? There was obviously a brawl, or similar nasty incident, for goalpie to write what he did, and start this new thread..can you please elaborate?

Well I watched the entire game and sure Sauntner had a few cuts and bruises to the head, however apart form the odd scuffle there didn't seem to be anything malicious going on except two teams going hard at it and pretty keen to win. I'm sure he's not the first full forward to receive a whack around the head from a full back, especially when they have kicked over 20 goals and he has kicked 5.3, the ball was coming down reasonably often !

Sandringham did not file a formal complaint apparently - but there is an obviously an official VFL enquiry underway - cos one of my umpiring colleagues spent 20 minutes on the phone tonight to whoever is heading it

(he said he didn't see what happened)

How is giving the opportunity to the State's best footballers to play in a decent competition a slap in the face?

Well i agree it wasnt a slap in the face in previous years but it is this year when 7-8 of the devils squad miss out everyweek because of those North blokes who care :D:D all about the devils or tassie footy and simply want to get a game for the north seniors. Isnt a disgrace when u turn to the back page of the paper and see all the North boys in all the photos and look at the results and rawlings is kicking all the goals and they are all in the best players. THIS is where the disgrace lies. The devils and i challenge everyone on this was neva designed to win VFL premierships so people can :D:D:D:D in the pockets of armstrong and wade but a pathway for the talented youngsters in Tassie footy to challenge themselves against higher oppostion if they missed being drafted. Its a DISGRACE.

It is an absolute DISGRACE how AFL Tasmania (and Football Tasmania before that) completely abandoned club football here - cut them adrift and let them sink or swim.
AFL Tasmania is supposed to be there to adminster the sport of Australian Rules football in the state of Tasmania for its member clubs, leagues and its participants.
They have done SWEET F*CK ALL for the clubs and leagues and virtually are only there to run the Devils, and to get in on the AFL gravy train - and that's what stinks.

And I agree with what Evvo says as well.

But will anyone give us some details on what happened??
