Copped some abuse for backing the club's stance on Thornton but it now appears that Thornton has re-signed for 3 years. What was that saying? To succeed without risk is to triumph without glory?

A hell of a risk was taken by the club but geez it feels bloody good when it comes off. My mood gets better and better by the day.

Yep, if the reports are correct, it is great to see the club take such a firm stand and get T-Bird back.

Well done to us all for agreeing with the club, who definitely did the right thing-sure, it was risky, but it looks to have paid off. Congratulations :thumbsu:

Now we should shift our attention to Russell, who I think will become a very good player-we just need to give him time and opportunity-much like Simmo.

Well done to Fev as well, who took Bret out to dinner and apparently persuaded him to reconsider, great the see Fev taking more responsibility, and that players respect him. And it was nice to hear that a few of the young kids have taken it upon themselves to start training already.

We have done very well so far in the off-season, and I am very pleased about that. Now all we need to do is be shown that both have re-signed, and have a good draft, and I can't ask for much more until the season starts.

I am very pleased to be a Blues supporter, as it looks like we are being very optimistic, and we will improve. We will get there, and the longer it takes, the more special it will be when we get there. And we will.

Well done to all involved :thumbsu:

No ... draft junkie. ;). The board is a democratic process HBF, so if we make a decision through that democratic process, the whole board is accountable for it. The board gets bagged, we all get bagged. The board gets praised, we all get praised.

Now to Jordan Russell, my idea to keep him is to find him a stunning girlfriend that humps like a rabbit and cooks like Jamie Oliver, as being a young man he will fall in love straight away and won't be going anywhere, jeez i've fallen in love already. Failing that hire him a hooker everynight and order in from Fifteen instead, a sure fire way to keep him at Carlton. And if all else fails get Livo to give him regular head as surely he must be useful at something.;) :D

Now who was the bloke who voted against our stance? :D

Sack HBF now!! ;) :p

I've got the other board members on side mate, i'm not going anywhere.
My stance was that if T-Bird didn't want to be there, then we should take what we could, which I thought would be #24 & #33.

However, this was thru his manager and I think all along that Bret wouldn't have minded going to the Hawks, but if Carlton couldn't do a trade, then he would be happy to stay at the club.

Looks like your theory was correct HBF considering the new 3 year deal. I must admit, his manager made things sound worse than they obviously were which had a lot of Carlton supporters believe that Bret really didn't want to be at the Club (me included). I am NOW (yes it took some time!) glad that the Club stuck to their guns and persued Bret and re-signed him.

Do you have ESP HBF?? :D Hu$$ey, surely if the answer is yes then that means HBF automatically keeps his spot on the Virtual Board? ;)

Well done on coming around BG.
As i said from the start, IF he wanted to go, then we should get what we consider the best deal for him.

Had he really wanted to leave though, he wouldn't have limited himself to one club, thus making it very difficult to organise a suitable trade.

As for the ESP BG, maybe I do..........:p
