Was a great game of footy. Both sides have walked away with something from it IMO. Well done to the Hawks.

Back in the day some of us used to show respect to each other and their footy teams when they had been through a contest.

It appears those customs have long passed whilst we have self effacing dolts such as yourself whom seem incapable of sportsmanship on or of any level or division.

Every board has their set of supporters that are ungracious and defensive on their own board. lock33 is one of ours. It was a cracking game of footy. Would have been nice to win, to sew up the minor premiership. But ah well, thems are the breaks. See you in September.

I would have been saying we can't seem to win the close ones had just a few things gone differently. A win is a win, but in this game neither team outclassed the other, I really thought Sydney were playing better in the last quarter, while we were better in the 2nd and 3rd. Finals are going to be interesting ... got a real inkling of how hard it's going to be to win this year!

It was a poor attempt at humour along the same lines as the previous weekly butt kissing threads being that us supporters and inter netters don't actually do the hard work its the players that would sound like that and in my semi inebriated state it didn't come out it same context that I intended. Sorry to anyone I deeply offended.

In my head I pictured the football crowd in top hats applauding like you would at the opera, politely bowing to the opposition supporter sitting next to them at the game, looking over his monocle offering a limp wrested hand shake, "jolly good game old chap".

Was a cracking game. I think the Hawks' premiership favouritism is warranted but I also think that we are capable of beating them. As Longmire said, there is very little to pick between the top 4 sides. You can probably make that top 6, because Geelong and the Eagles (now that they're getting some personnel back) can beat anyone on their day too. Whoever wins this year is going to have to earn it the hard way.

That is your opinion but I thought the 17 frees to Sydney to 4 for the Hawks till halftime the umpires were trying to keep Sydney in top spot.

Any chance of acknowledging the Hawks for coming back from 38 points down on your home ground?

As I stated the game was a cracker and could have gone either way.

Congrats to Sydney for a great game but maybe a bit of recognition for the Hawks would not go astray.
