I know there's a high thread turnover here, especially after a disappointing loss, but this one's only three days old. Maybe we can merge 'em.

Anyway, as I said in that one, he's clearly our most improved player of the year so far. People criticise him for not being able to put four quarters together, which is valid, but at least so far he's put three consecutive games together, which is something he hadn't done previously.

Let's hope he eradicates that selfish element to his game, which saw him ignoring open options and blazing away from the pockets. Mind you, had they gone through you'd say he was a superstar, it's the nature of the beast.

Hmm - sorry about that. Am only a sporadic Big Footy reader - just getting the hang of the whole culture here.

But, am proud to say, I am finally a Pies member (have been in Perth) - and have signed up 2 of the kids as well.

Good on you mate, I'll have to sign up the Heir to the Samples. Last night was the first time the Pies AFL team has been beaten in his short lifetime. :(

Yep he's going to be a real star, already v exciting classy player. I doubt it's selfishness, just takes that extra composure to look for and execute the best option esp vs the best teams - will come with more experience.

He still gives up on 3rd and 4th efforts. However he is now consistently making great 2nd efforts which he was doing very inconsistently last year.

I said two years ago, I think he's one of our most naturally gifted young midfielders. He has all the strings on his bow, has toughness, has a low flat and generally accurate kick when he is concentrating, has genuine pace, has composure etc. None of our other midfielders have all of those things, they may do some of them better, but they aren't as multitalented, not Pendles, not Swan. He's like Daniel Kerr lite. He just needs to continue to get consistency in his game and improve his decision making. His continous involvement in the game for the first 3 games of the season has been very good though.

him along with beams and sidey have been the shining lights so far this season.

all 3 of these kids could complement the likes of ball swan and pendles very well in a couple of years. Chuck in daisy aswell to that list.
